Foraging Dipper on the River Don, Aberdeen.

Still a nice evening, a calm steady breeze blew in clouds by the time I had arrived at this location.

I've been away overnight, but I'm coming to catch up!

Just a little slide with my birds

I brought them back out and released them where I had found them.

I feel so priviledged when I catch the starlings doing their dipping and swooping, they are just stunning, don't you think so?

Love watching juvenile Elegant Terns as they figure out their moves. This one was dipping and diving in the water honing some skills. Been waiting all summer for these Elegants to show up along the coast. They were late this year. But I was very happy to finally see them, even on a foggy day.

This takes strength, patience and lots of practice; an indigenous fisher using his dip net to catch a salmon swimming up the Bulkley river. Note his success!

I'm not sure which tern this is, any ideas?

Dippers are quite small birds with a wingspan of only about 30 cm / 1 foot. But they are incredible swimmers and divers. They can withstand the forces of fast running water or even torrents. They grab a hold on small cracks in the rocks and, as simple as that, put their heads and bodies into the rapids. It's just amazing

Einfach unglaublich

The image shows a stunning woman of a woman partially submerged in water, looking over her shoulder toward the viewer. She has long, sleek, light brown or ash blonde hair that flows naturally into the water. Her skin is smooth and flawless with a soft glow, and her piercing, icy blue eyes are captivating. Her makeup is polished and professional, with bold eyebrows, contoured cheeks, and matte lips in a deep nude shade. The background features gently rippling water in teal and blue tones, with run rays ,golden hour, sun evoking a serene ocean or lake setting. #xbch5l7xp

So some Eejit came up with this idea to do 52 diptychs in 2012 . one mono and one colour . So i`ll be uploading mine every Sunday for the next 52 weeks !! ..................

And No !! this isn`t my 2012 project , just a sidebar so to speak ....... thought it might be fun ;-))

During my San Francisco layover in August, I met up with Peter Ensrud at Point Reyes National Seashore. While sipping on a beer (thanks Peter for bringing it along) and waiting for the Milky Way to move into position over our main foreground target, we noticed some strong bioluminescence below the North facing cliffs to our right.

Despite being a bit disappointed that this was the wrong direction for the Milky Way, I moved my camera over and captured the scene. After shooting the foreground frames, I resisted the temptation to turn the camera back to shoot the Miky Way, which I could have used to produce a totally fake, but nice looking composite.

Instead, I framed higher and captured a few untracked exposures of the 'boring' Northern sky with the Big Dipper above the bioluminescent waters.

To my surprise, a strong airglow was bathing the horizon in color. The result is not the typical Milky Way nightscape, but staying true to the scene payed off nicely.

CSX M218 heads south through Norwood, NJ with CSX SD70ACC 4552 leading the way towards Newark, NJ with a 198 axle autorack train in tow. I like to call this portion of the line "The Dip" as the tracks go up and down a bit between the crossing I was standing at, Broadway, and Clinton Ave. The head end has just passed the automatic 17 signal.
