Once in a while a photo captures the right conditions to offer the semblance of 3 dimensions causing the key subject to come out at the viewer. It seemed to us to be the case for the beak and head with this photo. Red advances whereas blue recedes, sharp focus and edges advance whereas blurred and vague edges recede, and shadows can enhance the affect also. Of course when desired the pros can do it all in Photoshop.
Photo taken in Green Cay Wetlands, Florida.
This purple gallinule is a beautiful bird of many shades We chose the photo in Comment 1 below to show some while maintaining the 3d theme. It is the same bird as the subject bird.
“Understand me. I'm not like an ordinary world. I have my madness, I live in another dimension and I do not have time for things that have no soul.”
Charles Bukowski
Our dimension could be an illusion, who knows?
Notre dimension pourrait être une illusion, qui sais ?

I think this is about as dark as my photography has ever gotten for the Dark City Deutschland collection, but I like to experiment and push boundaries; comfort zones are for the uninitiated! This is a skyward LE of the commercial Novotel Tiergarten Hotel in Berlin, taken on a dreary late night and a very light drizzle was present, hence the few drops on the lens, which at first I was objecting to, but Vera, my sexy partner in crime, said it made for an interesting feature within the image so I kept it.
I look at this and I think of dark alternative / parallel dimensions, a co-existence of sinister parameters where all is devoid of recognisable life, yet, all things are consciousness in the darker and more evil sense, if you ever have seen the movie Event Horizon you'll know what I mean; for another words, the building itself is a "living" entity, perhaps even demonic.
So on that delightful and cheery note, I hope everyone is well and so as always, thank you! :)
When the noise of the real world gets in the way of inner peace, I gravitate to my camera. Experimenting with various liquid ingredients led to this image. It is comprised of milk, oil, food coloring and drops of liquid detergent,
I went walkabout, as I have done so often before, I do so to just spot things, see things, consider angles and interpretable visualisations, which one can bring to life via the camera beyond assumed limitations. In saying all that, I have become a little too obsessed methinks, with this glass office building just round the corner from where I live. It is fascinating, intriguing and presents on occasion when the lighting is just right, reflective illusions as being wholly coated in glass panels. On this occasion the Sun was just where it needed to be and so, standing by the roadside, being passed by many curious and judgemental drivers, started snapping off a number of shots.
I love this building and I will certainly be back.
I hope everyone's week is off to a great start, my light and love to all and so as always, thank you! :)
"The girl and her dog decided to start the walk when the Sun began to set. It was being a very pleasant and relaxing walk...
What they didn't know is that, at the same moment so far away, another identic girl with her other identic dog was taking the same walk."
Do you think that parallel dimensions exist?

"La chica y su perro decidieron iniciar el paseo justo cuando el Sol empezaba a ponerse. Estaba siendo un paseo muy agradable y relajante... Lo que no sabian es que, en ese mismo momento muy lejos de allí otra chica idéntica con su otro perro idéntico estaba tomando ese mismo paseo."
¿Crees que las dimensiones paralelas existen?
I told them one day, I'd become the most powerful being across the dimensions
And they told me to go to Hell
So you know what?
I did

"We do not grow absolutely, chronologically. We grow sometimes in one dimension. We are relative. We are mature in one realm, childish in another. The past, present, and future mingle and pull us backward, forward or fix us in the present. We are made up of layers, cells, constellations." ~ Anais Nin
My daughter and I got to the old cabin first before the rest of the family came. It was rustic and charming, but felt a little off. Baby Socrates, my little brilliant blind Frenchie shuffled about trying to evaluate the new place.. one eye is completely blind and the other almost it still can see shadows. Baby Socrates saw something that drew her attention and had that same intense look she does when she’s meeting a new person. as I walked into the room, my daughter was pointing at the ceiling telling me that baby Socrates is on point. This brave little rescue dog finds joy in life and nothing makes her happier than to be with family. I had a room to myself and while reading a book having trouble sleeping 1 AM the TV turned itself on and seconds later the creepy closet door opened by itself. Yep definitely didn’t sleep that night.
The Monostor Fortress - the largest modern fortress in Central Europe - was built between 1850 and 1871. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the neoclassical military monument is a fascinating sight with its huge walls of precisely hewn stone, the 3-4 metre thick earthen ramparts covering the defences and its network of underground passages (kazamata) several kilometres long.
Its monumental dimensions are evidenced by the following figures: The fortress covers 25 hectares, the total area including the firing ranges is 70 hectares, the floor area of the buildings is 25 680 m2 and the number of rooms is 640.
After the fortress was built, it served generations of soldiers of the Hungarian Defence Forces. Its tasks included the defence of the central fortress (North - Komárom) and the control of shipping on the Danube. It was never used in combat and served mainly as a training centre and weapons depot. During the First World War it was used as a conscription and training centre. During the Second World War, the 22nd Infantry Regiment had its headquarters at Fort Monostor, and the soldiers of the 1st and 2nd Infantry Regiments were stationed there. After the Second World War.
Between 1945 and 1990, the Red Army's Army Group South set up the largest ammunition depot in Central Europe in the fort. With their withdrawal, the military function of the fortress ended forever.
Today the fort is a popular destination with a military history exhibition, Cold War vehicles, a bread museum, a boat exhibition and numerous events.
