I created a baby in two days.

This is the fruit of my labor. I never had my hands in web designing for the past 4 years. Fortunately, I was able to recover some of my knowledge in HTML, CSS, basic javascript and DHTML.

Dit jaar voor het eerst is het Hermance Schaepmaneiland in de Hofvijver voorzien van fleurige bloembollenperkjes.
Behalve dat dit eiland nu ook een officiële naam heeft gekregen is er tevens een einde gekomen aan het verwilderde uiterlijk hiervan.
Geruchten als zou hier een illegale wietplantage zijn worden zo wel rigoureus de kop ingedrukt.

Monument met een lange gouden neus.
Op 7 november 2008 werd het beeld de Aardappelmannetjes van beeldend kunstenaar Joost van den Toorn officieel ingewijd met een shintoceremonie, om de Spazio in Zoetermeer in harmonie te brengen met de natuur. "De natuur is niet een plek waar je naartoe gaat, maar waar je je thuis voelt. De plek waar Zoetermeer uit de grond gestampt is, was vroeger een groot aardappelveld. De keien van de Aardappelmannetjes dragen de energie van de IJstijd nog met zich mee. Met hun lange neuzen lijken ze op de Japanse Tengu, het fabeldier dat demonen afschrikt. Voor ons hebben ze een vrolijke grijns. Met dit beeld is Zoetermeer een Uji-no-kami (energieke beschermer van de locatie) rijker geworden. In Japan verblijft de Uji-no-kami gewoonlijk in een steen die we op talloze plaatsen aantreffen, met name op kruispunten waar ze de veiligheid dienen te bevorderen.”

With the time we had between the end of a fab Hoge Veluwe biking trip and a reserved table a the very nice Look restaurant, we visited the Historische Kelders In there were still some objects of the Obsession exposition. It was a somewhat weird scene.

Puddle reflection of buildings and a pigeon in Amsterdam.
Some saturation&contrast added, but no Photoshop, no tricks, just a mobile phone shot :)
This pigeon thought I had some food and kept walking through my pictures, so I figured I might as well focus on the stoopid rat with wings bird and make it famous on the Interwebs!
Have a lovely weekend, in the best city in the world it's been raining for days, so I'll stay inside and watch the raindrops falling on somebody else's head :)

The 'corkscrew' is such a folly. It is a hill which we walk circling upward to sit there on a bench, to peel a tangerine and staring at a dead arm of the Vecht. As if we look through a window into the pastel painting for us. Mission of the landscape to the farm owner: "Look beyond your nose. Do not limit your own limits."

De 'kurkentrekker' is zo'n folly. Het is een heuvel waar we al cirkelend naar boven wandelen om daar op een bankje te zitten, een mandarijn te pellen en van bovenaf te staren naar een dode arm van de Vecht. Alsof we door een raampje kijken naar het pastelkleurige schilderijtje voor ons. Opdracht van de landschapsarchitect aan de landgoedeigenaar: 'Kijk eens verder dan je neus lang is. Laat je niet beperken door je eigen grenzen.'

SCRIPT UPDATED 15th April 2011!
I wrote a GreaseMonkey script for Flickr called "Group Pool Admin: Warn + Delete"
It lets a group administrators and moderators more easily remove inappropriate images from a group's pool, lets you easily send a warning message to the user who posted the image to the pool and also lets you kick or ban the user all in one simple interface.
SCRIPT FEATURES:
* Quickly delete images from group pool without having to click "OK" each time
* Kick or Ban users directly from the group pool page
* Send a flickr mail to the user, explaining why their image was removed from the group pool
* an option to delete ALL the user's images from the pool
* Save messages as reusable templates.
* If you use the following variables in the subject and or message:
$USERNAME$
$GROUPNAME$
$PICURL$
$GROUPURL$
they will automatically be substituted with the appropriate values when you send the message.

↑ Riis bekende in 2007 dat hij onder meer gedurende de Tour van 1996 het verboden middel EPO had gebruikt. Volgens de regels van de Internationale Wielerunie kon hem vanwege verjaring de winst echter niet meer ontnomen worden.
↑ De oorspronkelijke winnaar, Floyd Landis, werd positief bevonden op het gebruik van testosteron na de zeventiende etappe van de Ronde van Frankrijk 2006. Landis ontkende echter het dopinggebruik en vocht de uitkomst van de test aan. Op 11 mei 2007 kondigde de Tourdirectie evenwel aan dat Landis officieel geschrapt werd als eindwinnaar. Op 20 september 2007 bevestigde het Amerikaanse anti-dopingbureau USADA het gebruik van verboden prestatiebevorderende middelen en werd Óscar Pereiro officieel tot winnaar uitgeroepen. Op 15 oktober 2007 werd Óscar Pereiro in Madrid officieel gehuldigd als tourwinnaar van 2006, door tourbaas Cristian Prudhomme.
↑ Bij een dopingcontrole van de oorspronkelijke winnaar, Alberto Contador, werd een miniem spoor van het verboden middel clenbuterol aangetroffen. Hij beweerde dat dit kwam door het eten van een entrecote van een Baskische slager. Op 6 februari 2012 werd Contador door de UCI alsnog schuldig bevonden aan dopinggebruik, waardoor de zege aan de tweede plaats in de Ronde van Frankrijk 2010, Andy Schleck, toekwam.

Henk Bleker staatsecretaris van het CDA wil meer en meer bezuinigen op de natuur. Terwijl hijzelf midden in een natuurgebied woont en daarvoor meer dan rijkelijk is beloond.
