An unplanned trip, a proximate destination, a group with a common passion...
These are the elements that made this session special. Scarce with precious time and resources, a trip to the most visited landscape destination like batanes, palawan, etc was not possible.
Then I remembered a friend telling me, why go far when prized landscapes abound the coast of batangas, a 2 hour drive from manila.
These are the takes of a place familiar yet undiscovered...
A place called "La Provincia del Cumintang". A place to catch the beauty and pursuit of light.
Are you ready...
for a great journey?
I've added this image to my photo stream over a month ago and was forced to remove it a few days after. This image was taken during a photo shoot I was hired to do. The photo shoot was for the Microsoft Corporation. Not all the pictures from the photo shoot were licensed. They licensed 5 images only.
Hopefully, in the "near future", you will be seeing some of my work in some of Microsoft's "FINEST" products. Enough said :)

A few days ago, I took photos of a hover fly on a rose but my husband said that I already have a photo that looks almost the same.. He was referring to
this pic and I told him that they don't look the same. But I realized that he had a good point, so one of my goals for this summer is to take more photos of insects in flight. It's not going to be easy but it should be fun :-)

Complete frieze inscription:
Other sovereigns have honored dead men whose labor was unprofitable, but our sceptered Justinian, fostering piety, honors with a splendid abode the Servant of Christ, Begetter of all things, Sergius; whom not the burning breath of fire, nor the sword, nor any other constraint of torments disturbed; but who endured to be slain for the sake of Christ, the God, gaining by his blood heaven as his home. May he in all things guard the rule of the sleepless sovereign and increase the power of the God-crowned Theodora whose mind is adorned with piety, whose constant toil lies in unsparing efforts to nourish the destitute.
I made up my mind not to care so much about the destination, and simply enjoy the journey.

After crossing Ilkley Moor we dropped down the hill to a legendary drinking den that seemed to have gone all foody so we carried on down to the river and the canal in search of a proper drinking establishment...
Peggy's Cove, Nova Scotia is widely known as a "must visit" destination for photographers. Any time we visit the province we always set aside a day or two to explore the area, regardless of the weather. Our time is generally split between photographing the "iconic" subject material that most visitors are familiar with, and getting pics of other less "touristy" stuff that we come across. Here I was getting photos of a boat at a dock on the other side of the harbor. In moving around to get a variety of different compositions, I spotted this can jammed onto a protruding bolt on new dock timbers. I grabbed several images from a few different viewpoints, this one being the pic I liked best. Suspecting that this had not been deliberately placed for those photographers that might have had a "Peggy's Cove Coke can" on their Nova Scotia image "bucket list", I removed it and tossed it in a trash can on the way back to my van.
Taken with my new (at the time) Kodak DX6490 camera, a handy pocket-sized point & shoot that always gave me great pix. Anything bad that it produced was due to "operator error".

Spent the most of this weekend runnning around the graveyard shootin' photos for AP art. But I finally found time to get over to George Roger's Park and get some good shots of the fishy-pool where I go swimming in the summertime. Took the film camera with me this time and tried my hand at black-and-white (which I will post once I've got it developed). Eeek. Film!
