Et bien parce que la couleur d'un iceberg dépend de son âge. Les icebergs sont constitués de glace pure, et ils subissent de fortes compressions tout au long de leur développement. Les compressions ont pour effet de chasser progressivement les bulles d'air piégées dans la glace, et de lisser les surfaces réfléchissantes.
Les icebergs issus de jeunes glaciers n'ont pas subis beaucoup de compressions et contiennent donc beaucoup de bulles d'air et de surfaces réfléchissantes, ils réfléchissent donc une grande partie de la lumière blanche et paraissent... blancs !
Par contre, plus l'iceberg est ancien, plus il aura subi de compression. Ceci a pour effet de chasser les bulles d'air et d'éroder les surfaces réfléchissantes. La lumière blanche qui pénètre l’iceberg est donc en grande partie absorbée. Les grandes longueurs d’ondes, comme le jaune et le rouge, sont absorbées en premier alors que les courtes comme le bleu persistent plus longtemps. A 30 m de profondeur, dans la glace, seul le bleu n’est pas totalement absorbé. De plus, en rebondissant sur les molécules de glace, les ondes subissent un important phénomène de diffusion ce qui amplifie les fréquences du bleu. La fraction de lumière qui ressort, privée de ses radiations rouges, donne sa couleur bleue à l’iceberg.
Well, because the color of an iceberg depends on its age. Icebergs consist of pure ice, and they undergo strong compressions throughout their development. The compressions have the effect of gradually chasing the air bubbles trapped in the ice, and smoothing the reflective surfaces.
Icebergs from young glaciers have not undergone many compressions and therefore contain a lot of air bubbles and reflective surfaces, so they reflect a lot of the white light and look ... white!
On the other hand, the older the iceberg, the more compression it will have undergone. This has the effect of driving out air bubbles and eroding the reflective surfaces. The white light that penetrates the iceberg is therefore largely absorbed. Long wavelengths, such as yellow and red, are absorbed first while short ones like blue persist longer. At 30 m depth, in ice, only blue is not fully absorbed. Moreover, by bouncing on the ice molecules, the waves undergo an important diffusion phenomenon which amplifies the frequencies of the blue. The fraction of light that emerges, deprived of its red radiations, gives its blue color to the iceberg.
Le destin de l’Ibis falcinelle en Europe dépend de celui des vastes étendues marécageuses bordant la mer Noire, où il possède ses derniers refuges encore intacts. Living in Miami you look outside the window and see the beautiful sunshine and record heat which makes you feel a lot better. Maybe it also depends on if you look North or South. This bird species has different identifying features depending on sex/age/season. Adult male grey wagtails in breeding plumage have blue-grey upperparts, black wing feathers with white fringes on the tertials, and a yellow rump. Their long tail is black with white edges. They have yellow bellies, and bright lemon-yellow undertail coverts.
The nape, crown, and face are grey with a white supercilium and they have a black bib on the throat with a white moustachial stripe. Their eyes are black with a broken white eye ring, the bill is black, and their legs and feet are a dull pink.
Out of breeding season their throat is pale buff and their underparts are lighter yellow.
Female grey wagtails look similar to males in non-breeding plumage although some have a mottled black throat.
Juveniles resemble females but they have a pinky-buff lower bill and throat with no black markings. Birdspot

Depending on the time of day, the glacial meltwater often is best described as "Gatorade Blue" in this region. Here, where the water is shallow the yellowy rocks underneath turn the look an emerald color.

SNCF TGV 4402, Eckwersheim (ligne Réding - Strasbourg), 30 Août 2009.
La rame détentrice du record de vitesse à 574,8 km/h est en tête de cette UM sur un TGV Paris - Stuttgart, photographié à Eckwersheim, où se raccorde aujourd'hui la deuxième tranche de la LGV Est Européenne à la Ligne 1 historique Paris - Strasbourg. A cette époque, les TGV POS ne dépendaient pas encore du pôle LYRIA, et arboraient la livrée bleue et grise modernisation Lacroix. Les motrices de la rame 4402, quant à elles, portaient encore la même livrée que lors du record.
It is amazing how feathers change colours depending on the angle of the light, hummingbirds are no exception. I did not notice until editing that this hummingbird has an abnormal eye, (the one facing the camera}. I believe it is blindin this eye and yes...that is it's tongue.
Handsome, medium-size hummingbird of humid tropical lowlands. Favors forest edge, second growth, gardens in some areas. Feeds low to high and often comes to feeders. Can be difficult to distinguish from Buff-bellied Hummingbird, which favors drier habitats. Rufous-tailed has a dingier, grayish belly and more extensive rusty on the tail, which lacks the distinct fork often shown by Buff-bellied’s tail.

American Bird Association rates birds from 1-6 depending on how hard they are to find. 1 being the most common to a 6 birds that are thought to be extinct on extinct. This Bananaquit is a code 4 to give you an idea how tough it is to see it in the United States (Florida may be the only State you can find this bird). Bird is attracted to exotic garden with abundant flowers where it drinks their sweet nectar.
Bananaquit description:
Small and short-tailed with short, decurved black bill. Gray-black above with white throat and yellow belly with bold white stripe over eyes. Continuing rarity found at Richardson Historic Park and Nature Preserve in Broward County, Florida.
P.S. I have seen this species in Brazil and the Bahamas before but not in the USA.
Depending on the weather, there are an endless variety of ways to effectively showcase Venice's gondolas at the "Riva degli Schiavoni", with the island of San Giorgio Maggiore across the lagoon. Here's another variation on that theme.

La dernière restauration générale du château date de 1606, date que l’on pouvait lire sur le donjon avant son effondrement. Cette restauration permit de rajouter de nombreuses fenêtres dans les murs dont l’épaisseur dépasse parfois 1 mètre en certains endroits de leur base.

The LPP is a proposed 140-mile, 69-inch-diameter water delivery pipeline that begins at Lake Powell near Glen Canyon Dam in Page, Arizona, and ends at Sand Hollow Reservoir near St. George, Utah.
The Icicle 'Creek' (River depending on time of year) flows from the east side of the Cascade Crest which is the source of water in town, and many local orchards.
We're lucky, despite drought warnings, and reducing water consumption by 15%, that we have such a rich and fairly pure water source.

El Nacedero del Urederra, en la Sierra de Urbasa (Navarra), es uno de esos lugares que parecen diseñados para la fotografía de paisaje: luz tamizada, contrastes suaves y una paleta de colores que, incluso sin edición, roza lo irreal.
El rasgo más icónico del Nacedero es el color azul turquesa intenso de sus pozas y cascadas. Esta tonalidad se debe a una combinación de factores: sedimentos carbonatados y partículas de caliza en suspensión, que reflejan selectivamente las longitudes de onda azuladas. Aguas extremadamente puras que actúan casi como un filtro óptico natural.
Fondos blanquecinos formados por depósitos de travertino, que potencian la luminosidad y saturación del color.
Poca profundidad en ciertos tramos, lo que permite que el turquesa se perciba aún más vibrante.
Para fotografía, esto significa que con luz suave —especialmente en días nublados— el color se intensifica, y se evita el exceso de brillos.
El valle está cubierto por un hayedo atlántico que, dependiendo de la época del año, aporta texturas, filtros de luz y atmósferas completamente distintas. En otoño, el contraste entre el oro y el cobre de las hojas con el turquesa del agua es una de las combinaciones cromáticas más fotogénicas de la península. Posting this very late, or early depending on how you think of it, 1:30 am. Should be sleeping but decided to see if the Milky Way could be seen from my location tonight. Near Murdo South Dakota at a decommissioned State Scale. Besides a little traffic very dark and a clear sky, tons of stars visible. Even with the naked eye you can barely see the Milky Way. (when you know where to look) I was in bed about to sleep when I decided to check the SkyView app and see if the Milky Way might be visible. Not the greatest Milky Way shot, shutter a little too long so the stars are not round. Only able to take a couple of shots, the intermittent traffic messed up a couple of tries, and then the wind began to blow and my tripod was not staying steady enough. Anyway, pretty happy with how it came out, imperfect as it is.
The foreground, farm and lake was taken in Minnesota off I-94 on the 4th of this month. So if you're looking at my camera settings that's why they don't make sense. They were for the day time shot of the farm. Used Luminar 4 to add my Milky Way, and Light Room to put some Milky Way reflections on the lake.
I've been visiting a few of you each day, will keep doing that. So far it looks like you've all been staying safe, at least those of you I've had a chance to visit. Hope that's the case for all of you.

La seconde chapelle sud a été ajoutée au XVIe siècle (retable daté de 1556). Restauration au cours du XIXe siècle. Toiture en lauze refaite en 1937.£L'église adopte un plan régulier avec une nef flanquée de deux chapelles de chaque côté, et un chevet à trois pans. Le clocher-mur se situe au-dessus de la façade occidentale. A l'intérieur, la nef est couverte en berceau. Les premières chapelles s'ouvrent sur elle par un arc cintré. Les secondes chapelles, de style gothique, s'ouvre par un arc cintré et mouluré reposant sur des bases prismatiques. Une tribune occupe le fond de l'église. Le choeur est voûté d'ogives reposant sur des culots. Les vitraux du choeur sont dus à Mauvernay (1885). Ceux des premières chapelles nord et sud, ainsi que celui du tympan de la porte d'entrée sont dus au verrier Borie (1943).

Depending on how you look at this image, it may resonate differently with each of you. It's a focus stacked, blend to get the details and light correct. Could this be done in one shot, yes, the scene could be shot in one shot but it would be impossible to get the details and exposure all in one shot... So, I put the camera inside the old cabin, focus stacked the window frame and then took another shot for the mountain and other cabin. Then later that night I shot the milky way as it was setting over the mountain and blended it into the focus stacked scene to create the final image... That being said, this is an image/scene I plan to re-shoot. After talking with a friend about how to shoot this and get the window frame squared up, it's given me some ideas and I'd like to try it again so the window frame isn't askew...

Not always landscape photography depends on nice colours and in nature you must be able to take nice photos even in bad weather conditions.
In our recent trip to Iceland we planed to visit Hengifoss a nice waterfall located in the north-east of the island to take some shots. There is a trail of 2,5 km to reach the point and conditions were not very good, it was cold, cloudy and rainy and even more the trail includes a cumulated elevation of 250 m with hard ramps in the beginning. Finally we were able to complete the trail and take some shots under the rain. This is the result, obviously there are no oranges and reds in the sky but the place transmitted calm and serenity.
