AMTK 818 departs Raton, NM as it leads a late Eastbound Southwest Chief through the Raton X-Overs just outside the station. From here on its a short but steep climb up the 3.5% grade to the summit of Raton Pass.

With the sound of a Nathan K5L to make sure the people of Biltmore Village are awake, NS P87 makes the usual morning run to Bridgewater. With the Evergreen Packaging Company in Canton set to close within the next 2 months at the time of this scene, P87 became a priority for me to document. I was lucky in that P87, the local that runs to the Bridgewater Chip Mill that serves Evergreen & the only guarantee move over the Southern Loops, was set to make its final run the following Thursday. Another case of get out & document because you never know when you may get lucky with timing. 4-25-23

After a fair amount of switching and re-assigning of power the Weed Hauler gets underway, departing Hornbrook en-route to its namesake city Weed. There are some pretty nice scenes between Hornbrook and Weed and I took advantage of as many as I could.
After a LONG (3 hours) wait on the hillside SIRI finally heads south again passing a portion of the huge Domtar paper mill that dominates the town and is the sole reason for its existence it appears.
The southbound train has to wait for the northbound to finish it's yard work here before they can come in and start their work. This is also the place where the crews swap trains and return to their home terminal so long delays are common.
Roberval and Saguenay's evening road job departs Port-Alfred, Quebec on 8/17/2024 with a heavy train in tow. Typically R&S runs a morning, afternoon, evening, and occasionally a few road jobs at night, to meet the demands of the many locals and switchers based out of Port Alfred. Typically the evening road job is the heaviest with finished aluminum ingots, braxite loads, and pet coke loads.

Maryland Midland's UBST has their loads in hand as they depart the Barrick Quarry in Woodsboro MD. This trackage is one of the few active remants of the Pennsy's Frederick Branch which one time connected the city of Frederick MD with Columbia PA on the Susquehanna River. Of all the disconnected segments left, this is the most active with almost daily movements of aggregate from this quarry.
SU46-009 with local passenger train no. 90144 from Gdynia Główna to Kościerzyna is departing from Gdańsk Osowa station. Due to the fire in the switch tower at Gdynia Główna, the train temporarily started at Gdynia Wielki Kack station. June 13, 2001.

On a trip to Chicago in January 1997 I stumbled across tis set Chicago Central power. I was able to snap a few shots but then I had to move on. Unfortunately I couldn't wait around as this was the power for the afternoon westbound.

Amtrak 92, the Silver Star, departs Raleigh Union Station and heads east on the NS H-Line towards Selma, NC where they will get on the CSX A-Line.
After getting a new leader and a new crew in Bellevue, NS 68N is finally leaving Bellevue at the north end of Moorman yard. 68N is taking the NS Cleveland District, former NKP, all the way to Cleveland, OH and later Conneaut, OH where they will change crews again.
