"94-Millionen-Bank-Neubau liegt im Plan
(...) Die Schönheit der sandtonfarbenen Fassade mit den bodentiefen Fenstern liegt nicht nur im Auge des Betrachters, sondern auch an äußeren Faktoren. „Je nachdem, welches Licht darauf fällt, wirkt der Architekturbeton unterschiedlich“, schwärmte Stenger. Nachts soll die Fassade angestrahlt werden. Von oben sehen die drei Gebäudeteile mit ihren fünf beziehungsweise sechs Geschossen wie drei riesige „U“ aus. Sie gruppieren sich um das Herzstück, das 200 Quadratmeter große Sommerfoyer im Innenhof. Wichtig wird auch der Konferenzbereich, der Platz für interne und externe Veranstaltungen mit bis zu 600 Teilnehmern bietet. Die Mitarbeiter können neben ihren Büros auch „Meeting Points“ in den breiten Fluren nutzen, um sich auszutauschen und Besprechungen abzuhalten. Das Ziel: Eine offene Bürostruktur, die sich positiv auf die Arbeitszufriedenheit auswirken soll. Den Umzug werden die Mitarbeiter mit leichtem Möbel-Gepäck antreten. Weil es im Neubau auch neue – ergonomisch höhenverstellbare – Tische und Schränke gibt, wandern nur Bürosessel in die Umzugswagen. Tillmann Stenger nimmt ein einziges Stück mit: Einen Karl-Marx-Kopf, den er von seinem Vorgänger übernommen und ins Eck gestellt hatte. Jetzt darf der Kapitalismuskritiker mit übersiedeln."

During the second night of our frequent Northern Lights sightings for some short moments we witnessed this strangest of all Northern Lights displays: an almost perfect horizontal layer like defined with a celestial ruler. It didn't last long, hence I am very happy that I could capture it.
Gravellona Lomellina è un comune lombardo della provincia di Pavia, è un paese speciale, un vero e proprio ‘Paese d’Arte’, come ama definirsi. Negli anni ’90, inizia una vera e propria decorazione del paese, una street art partecipativa, nuova e innovativa. Le Istituzioni decidono di trasformare Gravellona Lomellina in un museo a cielo aperto. La sensazione è proprio questa, passeggiando per le strade sembra quasi di assistere ad un’esposizione, con tanto di accompagnamento audio, disponibile sul cellulare.
Gravellona Lomellina is a Lombard municipality in the province of Pavia, it is a special town, a real 'town of art', as it likes to define itself. In the 90s, a real decoration of the country begins, a participatory, new and innovative street art. The institutions decide to transform Gravellona Lomellina into an open-air museum. This is the sensation, walking through the streets almost seems to attend an exhibition, complete with audio accompaniment, available on your mobile phone.

Scotch Argus Butterfly:
Despite its name, the Scotch Argus is not only found in Scotland; it is also found at two sites in the north of England. A freshly emerged Scotch Argus is a sight to behold; the dark brown velvety upper sides making the butterfly appear almost jet black from a distance. The butterfly is unmistakable when seen basking with its wings open, when orange bands containing distinctive spots are revealed. This butterfly lives in well-defined colonies that are often very large.
Like the Mountain Ringlet, the ability of this butterfly to survive cool temperatures means that it was probably one of the first species to recolonise the British Isles after the last ice age, over 10,000 years ago. The English colonies, Arnside Knott and Smardale Gill, are both found in Westmorland. Colonies are much more numerous in Scotland, where this butterfly can be found in most of northern, western and southwest Scotland. This butterfly is absent from the lowlands of central Scotland, many of the western isles (including the Outer Hebrides), Orkney and Shetland.

I came across this quote this morning and decided to grab some fruit from the fruit bowl we made yesterday.
The inscription on the monument "If I will forget Them, You, God in heaven, forget about me."- Adam Bernard Mickiewicz ( 24 December 1798 – 26 November 1855) Polish poet, dramatist, essayist, publicist, translator, professor of Slavic literature, and political activist.
The Volhynian, massacres, were anti-Polish genocidal ethnic cleansings conducted by Ukrainian nationalists.
The massacres took place within Poland’s borders as of the outbreak of WWII, and not only in Volhynia, but also in other areas with a mixed Polish-Ukrainian population, especially the Lvov, Tarnopol, and Stanisławów voivodeships (that is, in Eastern Galicia), as well as in some voivodeships bordering on Volhynia (the western part of the Lublin Voivodeship and the northern part of the Polesie Voivodeship. The time frame of these massacres was 1943-1945. The perpetrators were the Organization
of Ukrainian Nationalists-Bandera faction (OUN-B) and its military wing,
called the Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA).
Their documents show that the planned extermination of the Polish population was called an “anti-Polish operation.”
Criminal Investigations
Genocide is a legal category. The Volhynian massacres have all the traits of genocide listed in the 1948
UN Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide, which defines genocide
as an act “committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group,
as such.” In Polish academia the Volhynian massacres are referred to as genocidal ethnic cleansings,
the Volhynian (or Volhynian-Galician) slaughter, or, in legal terminology, the crime of genocide.
Polish historians are emphasizing that the Volhynian bloodbath is the uncleared crime of genocide still, and praise of Stepan Bandera and members murderous party of OUN-UPA by the current Ukrainian authorities.
