Teilhard says we can further God’s project not only by our activities but also by how we deal with daily passivities of diminishment as well as those endured while suffering and dying. What does Jesus do with the energy he spends in suffering physical pain, emotional rejection, and spiritual pain? What is its purpose? Is it purely a waste? Can the energy spent enduring these things be used to benefit the growth of the kingdom of God? Teilhard answers yes.1 That is what Jesus teaches us on the cross. The energy being spent in enduring passivities, just as the energy being spent in performing activities, may be directed to energize God’s project by one’s intention. In the kingdom, no energy need be wasted. Even the energy endured in unwelcome passivities may be directed to contribute to God’s project. Teilhard sees Jesus doing precisely this. God’s will is always to promote the growth of the kingdom. Jesus’s prayer is, “Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on Earth….” This is the meaning of all martyrdom. One willingly undergoes martyrdom to help the growth of God’s kingdom, not merely to save one’s soul. In Teilhard’s terminology, one acts and does good deeds to help accomplish God’s work on Earth by one’s activities of growth. One transforms suffering and passivities to help accomplish God’s work on Earth by one’s activities of growth. One dies—a passivity—to help accomplish God’s work on Earth by turning it into an activity of growth.

Deeds are done which appear so evil to us and people suffer such terrible evils that it does not seem as though any good will ever come of them; and we consider this, sorrowing and grieving over it so that we cannot find peace in the blessed contemplation of God as we should do, and this is why: our reasoning powers are so blind now, so humble and so simple, that we cannot know the high, marvelous wisdom, the might and the goodness of the Holy Trinity. And this is what he means where he says, “You shall see for yourself that all manner of things shall be well”, as if he said, “Pay attention to this now, faithfully and confidently, and at the end of time you will truly see it in the fullness of joy.”

Several black families were residing in Gillespie County by the 1870s. A schoolhouse was built in 1877 on property adjacent to this later church site. Blacks probably met in the school for worship services before this church was completed 10 years later. In 1887 Oscar Basse deeded this lot to William McLane, Silas Russel, James Scruggins, and James Tinker as trustees of the Colored Methodist Episcopal Church. Members of the congregation erected this simple frame structure, with its small steeple, atop a native limestone foundation. In recent years, when the local black community dispersed, use of the church building decreased and deterioration set n. Cora Phillips, widow of Paul Phillips, well-known Gillespie County veterinarian and church trustee, suggested restoring the structure for use by youth organizations united in 1974. The youth, representing half a dozen faiths, carried out repair and renovation work and gained national recognition for their endeavors. Dr. Robert Mosby, son of the black congregation's third pastor, the Rev. William H. Mosby, preached at ceremonies in February 1976, when the restored building was dedicated as the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church.

This historic Church is being restored again.

Davey House

45922 Sparta Line, Sparta

The Davey House was constructed at some point between 1845 and 1855. The simplicity of the building epitomizes the Provincial Greek Revival style in which it was built. It also has pilastered doorways with entablatures, and a solid frieze, similar to other houses in Sparta that date back to the 1850s. The property on which the Davey House sits was originally deeded by the Crown to the Honourable James Baby. Baby sold the property to the Jonathan Doan in 1813, who then sold it to his son, Israel Doan in 1843. Wade and Vera Davey purchased the house in 1990 and have made considerable effort to restore it.

Res Gestae Divi Augusti / The Deeds of the Divine Augustus

-Hacı Bayram is a soufi philosopher 1362-1430

Deeds are fruits, words are leaves.

Author: Proverb

This very little insects helps a lot in spreading flowers everywhere.

This my look as one of what is called "little good deeds." Are these "little good deeds" are really little?

What the insect does here is spreading pollen everywhere. Is this little? Sure it is not.

So do not belittle good deeds.

Prophet Muhammed (peace be upon him) said:

“Do not think little of any good deed, even if it is just greeting your brother with a cheerful countenance.”

Settle in, this is going to be a long one! And you don't have to read it... but I find that sometimes getting the thoughts out of my head is helpful!

I thought this week was going pretty well. I was starting to think that in this messed up world there is still some hope. On the 4th of July, as I have done for several years in the past before Covid, I will be running (jogging, walking, struggling through) a 5K around the Statue of Liberty. I do this for two reasons; because the 4th of July is my favorite holiday and I love being surrounded by people dressed in crazy red, white and blue bedazzled attire in a special place, and more importantly, because the run benefits Special Olympics NJ and gives me a chance to participate in something good. On my fundraising page, I offer my friends, family and co-workers the chance "to be heroes" (that sounds much nicer than begging them for their monetary support of my favorite charity!) and as they have done so many times before, they stepped up and together we will be donating enough money to Special Olympics to send more than 50 Special Olympic athletes to the Fall Games. Some of these people are parents that my kids (now in their 30s) played soccer with back in middle school and I hope it makes them feel as good as it makes me feel to do some good in this world where all the news seems so bad. I could go on and on about this topic, thankfully, I won't!

Next, one of my friends at work had her beloved cat that she had for over 20 years pass away and she opened her home and heart to new kitten from a shelter, only to find out shortly afterward that the poor little thing has a heart defect that will cause it to slowly die of heart failure within 1-2 years, unless she can get it medical help which will cost $8000. Not having that kind of money, she was brave enough to put up a "go fund me" page to help raise the funds to save her kitty. I say "brave enough" because there has been plenty of talk about this being ridiculous... it's just a cat... just get another cat ...who spends that kind of money on a cat, etc... and I understand that everyone is entitled to their opinions and that is fine. Me, I took one look at that kitten's face and hit the DONATE button. And... I was not alone. Within 5 days, she has raised half of the money that she needs... not just from friends and family.... but from complete strangers... and I am thinking... well, look at that... maybe people ARE good afterall. That's the beauty of it, yes... it is a lot of money, but if a LOT of people come together to help, anything is possible... isn't that the way it is supposed to be? People helping others? Hmmmm...Faith in people slowly being restored. YeY!

Two weeks ago I went to the abandoned farm that I love and fixed a barn door that was hanging off the rolling hinges on top, figuring that if I didn't, it would end up breaking off, and I didn't want that to happen, because it's such a good spot for photos and because the old barn has stood for so many years that sometimes it just deserves a little help. So, I dragged a step ladder out there and struggled to get it back on the track. Tonight I went back there again to take another version of a photo that I took a couple of years ago, only to find that someone has now started ripping the barn wood off of the side of the barn. I couldn't even believe it. So, I walked around the back of the barn to see if there was any other damage and that's where I found that they had also dumped a mattress and boxspring. I realize that I do not own this property and technically I am trespassing there as well, but I would never break anything, ruin anything, dump anything.... etc. Last week, I found that someone had spray painted in red "Time to float" on the front of the beautiful old stone farmhouse. I tried to sand that off, and tried to get it off with a wire brush, with no success and will probably have to carefully paint over it if I want to make it go away. So, I am right back to square one, thinking that this world is pretty broken and that the good that is left is not going to be enough to overcome the bad people that are thinking only of themselves or pointing fingers and blaming others and telling them that they are wrong and stupid.... because that's all we hear about.... no one hears about the people that care whether a special needs individual is going to get to experience the thrill of being a part of a team or the people that think that a kitten that is loved deserves to live a healthy life for more than a year or two.... so that's why I am telling you... so you know... that these people are out there... quietly doing good without looking for attention and headlines... and thank God for that! ( I feel a little bit better now. Thanks! )

I swear I hung on that windswept tree

Hung there nine long nights

Wounded by my own blade,

Bloodied for Odin,

Myself an offering to myself.

Bound to the tree -

No man knows whither

the roots of it run.

None gave me bread

None gave me drink.

Down to the deepest depths I peered

Until I spied the Runes.

With a great cry I seized them up,

then dizzy and fainting, fell.

Well-being I won

And wisdom too.

I grew and joyed in my growth.

From a word to a word

I was led to another word

From deed to deed.

Well, I thought the thief had deleted my images from his stream, but apparently he just deleted the set. He has 17 of my images from the middle of page 7-8. I would suggest y'all block him and I would also appreciate it if y'all would report him to the Flickr team. I wish that Flickr would do more to protect us from this sort of thing from happening.

Have a Happy Easter!

A Suffragette poem... Pixievic Feb 2016

Warriors

Deeds not words!

They cried in their protest

Marching on Parliament

Intent on their quest

to the corrupt politicians

who recorded their struggle

but denied them the vote

and left them to juggle

their lives that equalled

less than their brothers

where they had no rights

not even as mothers.

As wives they were thwarted

their wages, their spouses,

they worked long hard hours

and still kept their houses.

Tea on the table,

washing hung out

the children looked after,

to their husbands - devout.

They stood up for their choices

the injustice they faced

were imprisoned & tortured

and fired in disgrace.

Children were taken

away from their mothers

who were labelled as mad,

their opinions were smothered.

Yet still they continued

to rally & fight,

secure in the knowledge

that they deserved rights

that equalled the men

that ruled their world -

So they took up arms

and fists were curled.

When one was killed

that brave young girl

who in front of a horse

her body she hurled.

"Votes for Women"

her banner announced,

so simple & honest

the message pronounced

to hundreds of people

who just stood & stared.

As her breath left her body

the women prepared

to fight their fight,

be true to their cause,

take down the men

and change the laws.

So thank you to those

brave women of old

who did what they did

without being told.

We now have the right

as women, to fight

without risk to our freedom

and stand up for our rights!

...the Brothers Odd.

Deep within the echoes of immortal whispers and forgotten bloodlines lies the Vampire Pantheon, a creation so hauntingly exquisite it beckons even the darkest souls to kneel in awe. Crafted by the masterful Nocturna Deed, this otherworldly artifact embodies the essence of eternal night, where the line between predator and deity blurs. Each detail is steeped in gothic elegance, from the intricate carvings reminiscent of ancient runes to the faint glow that seems to pulse like a heartbeat of the abyss. Dare to bring this relic into your lair, and you may find yourself consumed by the secrets it holds—secrets that may awaken powers long buried in the dust of time.

But beware: the Vampire Pantheon is not merely a decoration for your dark sanctum; it is a summoning. It calls forth the essence of the forgotten pantheon, a congregation of vampiric spirits who crave devotion and blood-soaked oaths. Are you prepared to bear the weight of their gaze and the unrelenting demand of their ancient hunger? If so, step into the shadows and claim your destiny. Available now at the December round of the Progeny Mall, this is your chance to embrace the darkness and ascend to a power that echoes through eternity.

Obadiah 1:15 “Indeed, the Day of the LORD approaches all nations. As you have done it will be done to you—your deeds will return to haunt you!”
