On a cold November afternoon, I was able to track down the KCS 4006 on the point of the QSHKC13. Here it is pulling north through the siding at Jaudon, MO, some 30 or so miles south of Kansas City.
This unit was just recently released from KCS' Shreveport, LA shops, and this was its first trip north after its repainting.
More info on the unit can be found here: www.kcsouthern.com/media/news/news-releases/kcs-veterans-...
MDRY 8250, still wearing the paint of the defunct Midland Railway, trails on the end of this passenger run on Rock Island's new subsidiary Ottawa Northern. The train consisted of Midland Railway's former primary power, MDRY GP20 4079 (formerly SP 7229) in the lead and MDRY GP10 8250 (formerly IC 9250) trailing on the rear. The Santa Rocket slowly made its debut run on the former-ATSF rail line between Baldwin City, Kansas, and Norwood, Kansas and back during the first snowstorm of the cold season.

It's 18:27 on August 1, 2020, as Rio Grande Southern 4-6-0 #20 poses at the No Agua water tank at the Colorado Railroad Museum in Golden, Colorado.
