It was not an easy task for Aston Martin to come up with a successor of the stylish DB9. In 2015, the British manufacturer announced that the DB11. The upcoming model range, which the DB11 was a part of, was to introduce a new and fresh design approach directed by Marek Reichman, whom Aston Martin appointed lead designer in May 2005. Official manufacture of the DB11 began on 28 September 2016 at the facility in Gaydon. To demonstrate his commitment to quality, Aston Martin's then-CEO, Andy Palmer, personally inspected the first 1,000 cars.
The DB11 was an instant hit. Jeremy Clarkson, at that time working for The Sunday Times, described it as 'phenomenally good'. "If you're ever in Paris, at a party at 3 a.m., and suddenly remember you are playing in a tennis tournament in Monte Carlo the next afternoon, this is the car for the job. You'd arrive feeling like you'd just got out of the bath".
In fact, the DB11 was a car many clients hoped for. It featured slick new technology, a new 5.2 liter twin turbo V12 engine and an advanced aluminum chassis. It was all new from the ground up and hugely important to the marque as it marked its second century. The twin-turbocharged V12 engine, with a 5.204 cc displacement, produces a power output of 600 hp (450 kW) at 6,500 rpm and a torque output of 700 Nm between 1.500 â 5.000 rpm. Top speed is 320 km/h and acceleration from 0 â 100 km/h in just 3,9 seconds.
This specific car was delivered new in The Netherlands by official Aston Martin dealer Kroymans. It was ordered in a beautiful Magnetic Silver with a Californian Poppy leather interior with Black Obsidian inserts. It features extra options like a Bang & Olufsen Beosound audio system, Auto Park Assist, an Aston Martin car cover and umbrella. All service history is on file and done by Kroymans. With only 41,000 km on the odometer, this car is ready to be enjoyed by the next owner for many more years.

Designed by Miles Nurnburger (exterior) and Matt Hill (interior) under chief designer Marek Reichman the DB 11 debuted at the 2016 Geneva Motorshow as a replacement for the DB9. The new design features new roof strakes that separate the body from the roof, available in black or body colour, and the "Aeroblade" intakes in the front strakes. The bonnet is a 'clam-shell' design made from a single piece of aluminium. The DB11 does not use the older Aston Martin VH platform but makes use of an all-new riveted and adhesive-bonded aluminium platform with more cockpit space. Production officially started on 28 September 2016.
At launch the only available engine was an all-new 5,204 cc twin turbocharged V12, called the AE31 of 608bhp.making it the first turbocharged series-production Aston Martin. The car is equipped with a rear-mounted 8-speed automatic transmission manufactured by ZF Friedrichshafen.
The DB11 V8 joined the lineup in early 2017, powered by a 4.0-litre Mercedes-Benz M177 twin-turbocharged V8 engine of 503bhp, developed by Mercedes-AMG, offering a weight saving of 254lbs over the V12.
The V12 was superceeded in May 2018 by the even more potent DB11 AMR, with 630bhp rom its 5.2-litre AE31 twin-turbocharged V12 engine. Other unique features include a more aggressive exhaust note in Sport & Sport+ mode, black roof, dark interior trim and new 3.5 kg lighter, 20-inch forged alloy wheels. It is believed that this was brought about by the V8 performing better than expected narrowing the gap between the two models, which has been redressed by this more powerful variant.

This Aston Martin DB11 from Germany has been a resident in Mayfair for a while now, though I only spotted it last month, parked next to a Huracan Performante and a Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow. Not a bad combo, I must say. This DB11 was registered to the capital of the populous German state of North Rhine-Westphalia, DĂŒsseldorf, located in the west of Germany.
