Back along I was taking lots of photos of empty lanes (no bikes in the shot...) trying to convey the peace, quiet, and beauty of the lanes, and why I like them, but now summer is here, the trees are in full leaf and the sunshine all dapply, I actually don't find them so photogenic. I like the wintry feel and the mass of bare branches on display in the colder months. So I've been taking fewer shots like this lately, even though drifting along these lanes in the summer warmth is always a pleasure, it's just visually I prefer the lanes in winter.

This fun little bracelet was created by {me} in my home studio from start to finish. My daughter actually inspired me to put this together. While pretending to count the money in her piggy bank, she asked me if I could use the pennies to make jewelry.
I domed each penny using a dapping block and then drilled holes in each one and connected them with handmade copper rings. The clasp is hand forged from copper wire.
Who's to say I can't be the moon? Or the stars? Are we not all fragments of the universe? Can't we be anything that we dream? You have to believe. I am the Moon. And I am the stars. And it's not a dream.
I really enjoyed making this one. A large sterling silver circle was hand sawn and hammered in a dapping block. I set a white mother of pearl cabochon on the 'moon', drilled holes, and from it dangled a hand sawn sterling silver star with Swarovski crystals.
I made this pendant quite a while ago, when it seemed that everything in my life was going wrong. So I took it out on metal.
First, I whacked at it with a heavy hammer until the metal hardened and cracked, forming the break. Then, I annealed it and began to work it with hammers and dapping punches to give it volume and shape. Quite a symbolic piece for me. Makes me feel like an angsty artist, you know.

Fun with wire wrapping! I seem to be obsessed lately with doming circles in my dapping block and hammering them....as yet another piece contains one! They're just so fun to do!! HA!! I wire wrapped some Swarovski crystals around a slightly faceted flat dyed pink quartz bead and wire wrapped the dome to it. No soldering in this one!
