Sterling silver woven almost like a spiral graph and pushed into a flower form is added to a dapped, drilled and annealed for color copper wheel, which is then cold connected to a sheet of brass that has also been dapped for just the right curve. Reclaimed, and vintage chain complete the look, fnished with a curly clasp!

While I was doing my enamel tests yesterday, I stupidly held the spoon above the kiln in hope of drying the enamel faster to return to the jar. Even though it was 6 inches above - it melted. Duh.
Lightbulb! After I was finfished with my project, I intentionally melted and formed the ring around the handle of a dapping tool.

The green skirt is my 'sheet' metal, formed in my dapping block to create folds, enameled bitter green. The waist piece is from a domed copper disk that I had melted out the middle of, then enameled. The top part is from a copper tube that I had tried to squash and collapse in my vise, also enameled. Scrap 14 gauge wire holds them together and makes the legs. Some netting I had left over from texturing metal in my rolling mill creates the crinoline underskirt.

The designers had to use the clothes they slept in the night before plus one of their bedsheets to create a new look. They also had access to dye and trimmings.

Since this challenge was all about using what you have in an unexpected way, and since most of us don’t sleep in jewelry, the challenge this week is to make something only from material that is sitting on your bench! If you don’t have a bench or access to your studio, then choose another area like your desk. Since the designers got a sheet, we get some sheet metal. You are welcome to use enhancements like stones from your supplies. But the final piece should be made of a majority of your found pieces if possible
stamped and dapped, these mixed metal earring are all handmade with the letter D creating the design on both halfs of the sphere. I used copper, brass, aluminum and sterling silver for the headpins and ear wire.

These 20 gauge sterling silver cottonwood leaf earrings have been hand sawn, saw pierced with a jeweler's hand saw to illustrate the veins, dapped or domed into a 3 dimensional cottonwood leaf, and both now dangle from sterling silver ear wires. The silver cottonwood leaves measure 1" by 1" and the earrings have a drop of approximately 1 1/2 inches.

Man führte Gespräche mit Theologiedozenten und Studenten aus Wittenberg über die reformatorischen Ideen, gegen die sich der Jüterboger Guardian und einige Lektoren der Ordenshochschule abgrenzten, weil sie um die Einheit der Kirche fürchteten. Zu Ostern 1519 kam es in Jüterbog zu einem Streit zwischen Thomas Münzer und den Franziskanern, der durch öffentliche Predigten ausgetragen wurde. Der Lektor Bernhard Dappen richtete im Namen des Konvents eine Beschwerde an den Bischof von Brandenburg, die Martin Luther zugespielt wurde, worauf dieser den Jüterboger Franziskanern mit öffentlicher Bloßstellung „ihrer wunderlichen Weisheit“ drohte. Zwar verbot der Brandenburger Bischof die Predigt gegen Luther, aber die Einstellung der Brüder in Jüterbog trug dazu bei, dass die Sächsische Franziskanerprovinz insgesamt der Reformation kritisch gegenüberstand und in den folgenden Jahrzehnten die Schließung fast aller Klöster hinnehmen musste.
