After days of being at home, we took a run out. No, not to the Trafford Centre or some retail park. We went to Traigh beach, Arisaig, overlooking Eigg and Skye. Shame we didn't think to take some deck chairs and a picnic, but I assumed it would be raining when we got there

Christmas is around the corner and it somehow doesn't feel like it.
We had snow yesterday but it was all gone by this morning as it started raining. Time is passing so fast that i totally missed the christmas mood. Depression and anxiety don't help with that either.
My dog is still sick. It don't get any better. He's getting from one sickness to the next one without any break. At least he's still around right?

In the Altmühltal Nature Park, the highlight of Golden October has been reached and the trees show themselves in the most beautiful colours. It's a pity that it will only last a few days.

Just another one of those days, early in the morning while most people are still sleeping, especially when the weather is so gloomy, sometimes things happen that are subtle and yet still beautiful. The stillness before the day begins affords a meditative state of serenity, but even more interesting was, as I was experiencing that moment, a deer with new horns walked by literally in front of my Tri-pod (between where I was standing here and the lake) stopped, stared at me for a moment, then kept walking. It exhibited no fear of me, only a curiosity, and then went on with it's morning routine. Nature is such a mystery.
A local sunset with a tree reaching the end of its time, looking rather forlorn in a field that has been home for the last Century or so!
It is sad to see so many of our stately trees dying off. I was actually driving back to the house and saw that the sky was quite interesting at dusk, so I stopped and took this shot. I had noticed this tree previously and thought it would make a worthy subject for an image if the conditions were decent..
This was taken at the pond in front of St. Clair College in Windsor, Ontario. There has been some Heron there from time to time as well.
Fed the squirrel that comes by everyday, poor bugger, has a lump that doesn't look to good. Shelled the nuts for him.

The now disused airfield close to St Davids, with the Preseli Hills in the distance.
During World War II St Davids Airfield was the scene of constant activity as an RAF Coastal Command base engaged in the Battle of the Atlantic. Today St Davids Airfield is a peaceful place. In spring skylarks now fill the air with their persistent song.
In the mid 1990s the National Park Authority bought most of the disused airfield and began a major landscaping project to restore and recreate wildlife habitats and safeguard public access and enjoyment. The remainder of the airfield was returned to farming use.

Another shot of last weekends sunset. On looking back at the RAW images I took in the field next door, I actually preferred this shot with the old oak tree on the left third and the flock of rare breed sheep gathered to its right in the dying embers of the day!
Sunset is a wonderful experience and often you cannot predict how the sky will light up after the sun goes over the horizon. On this occasion it was spectacular for about 5 minutes before it quickly ended.
We were without electricity, hot water and heating, phones and internet for hours and hours over a three days period during a blizzard this time last year. The only lights you could see here came from candles, cars and vessels in the harbour. This photo was taken in the centrum of Siglufjörður in the morning of the 12th of December 2019.
