Even the foggy days have their charm.
Today was miserable -rainy cold and misty so it was quite a thought to go for a walk. However I was well rewarded by this beautiful display of irises beside the water.
Leaning over a wall, with a steep drop in front of me. If I had dropped my iphone id never have been able to reach it !

An unusually warm February day in Marsden prompts the resident to put their washing out.
Some fine stone-built terrace houses here which would certainly have no problem coping with the normally tough wintry conditions endured in this part of the world.

Liked this view there and the dynamic range from one side of the sky to the other where the transition from night to day can be seen ... captured there in the Badlands before sunrise.
With its other siblings having already fledged, this young barred owlet is the last one to leave the nest. Shown here accompanied by its mother who had just brought it food, it left the nest the day after this photo was taken.
