My LEGO model of Rainbow Dash from 'My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic'. She contains approx. 3,700 parts.
I started this project over a year and a half ago. There were many times where I felt like giving up; designing her proved to be a huge challenge. My main expertise previously has been in building model trains. They tend to be covered in straight lines and right-angle corners. This is about as removed from that as you can get.
What kept me going was the encouragement I received from friends in the MLP fandom. Since LEGO models aren't common in that community, the novelty of the project seemed to be a good draw. Essentially, people wanted to see the finished thing just as much as me.
When I began the project, I set out a few objectives:
- She would be an accurate representation of how Rainbow appears in the cartoon, when viewed from all angles
- It would be obvious that she is made of LEGO
- She would be free standing
- She would have an exciting pose and expression to best represent her character, rather than looking like a lifeless statue
The fact that she is able to balance on just 2 legs is more of a fluke than anything else.

Sort of a forgotten character in the Star Wars universe. Dash was the Han Solo-esque mercenary character in a story where Han was taken out of the action.
When I was younger I dug this figure quite a bit even with that overly static left arm. Nowadays I still think the character design is pretty solid, but like most of the EU it stops there.

Returning from our trip to Adelaide, we arrived late evening at Port Macquarie airport in this Dash 8 aircraft, after spending 8 hours in transit at Sydney airport because of a flight cancellation and delays. It would definitely have been quicker to drive back from Sydney.
However, flying at relatively low altitude we were able to see and recognise most of the settlements all the way up the coast. It was an enjoyable flight.

This lonely Dash 9 waits for the car dumper finish the unload to pick up the cars to form another train. The Dash 9's numbered from #857 to 867 came from Erie already wearing the new Vale colors.
Nice looking dash of a 1956 Ford Fairlane Sunliner. I wasn't able to get a good exterior picture of the car, but it was a beautiful two tone light green/dark green. At least got a decent pic of the dash.
