You must be the change you wish to see in the world.

I wish the people in this country would pay more attention to the ideas of these two great men.
If there's only one hero in the world. He is it. And I really love his smiling face. Most beautiful wrinkles in the world.

wisdom quotes-peace by Dalai Lama

This is my simple religion. There is no need for temples; no need for complicated philosophy. Our own brain, our own heart is our temple; the philosophy is kindness.
-Dalai Lama
My photo of the Dalai Lama was chosen as one of 15 flickr-photos for the German internet-magazin Tomorrow. It's an article with 'peace' as subject, to the UNO-world peace day on 09/21. The pictures should "remind of how fragile peace actually is"...

Tibetan Buddhism Institutions
Characteristic of Tibet, Mongolia, Tuva, Bhutan, Kalmykia and certain regions of the Himalayas, including northern Nepal, and India.
Buddhism is a tolerant religion that places emphasis on practical methods for cultivating spiritual awareness and on the importance of finding the truth for oneself.
Buddha,Prince Gautama Shakyamuni, and explain his teachings and the basic concepts of the spiritual insight that he attained, feels that it is important to know that nuns and monks ordained in the Tibetan tradition follow the vows, the Tibetan Buddhist philosophy and meditation, helping all in need,as divided into the three Yanas (Skt.), meaning 'Vehicles' or 'Paths'.including Hinayana,Mahayana and Tantrayana, that deal with the traditions, like Zen and Tibetan Buddhism. as to clarify the variations between the many different schools and traditions of Buddhism, intended to show the path that people can follow for their own development.

On October 6, 2009, he received the Lantos Human Rights Prize from United States.
His speech focused on the importance of the continued use of non-violence and his desire to maintain a dialogue with China.
My mom and I accidentally ran into the Dalai Lama just a block from my apartment. He was visiting a women's shelter on O Street, NW.
Not the best of photographs, but it was the experience that was the purpose. One of the benefits of being in D.C. is getting the opportunity to see cultural events, and this was certainly an event. Thousands of people turned out to listen to the Dalai Lama speak on the west lawn of the Capitol. An inspiration.
We ended up having to leave a little early which is how I got some of the different perspectives below.
Thanks for looking!

Dalai Lama is visiting Iceland. I went to the church today (Since I'm a "militant atheist" I don't go very often) to check it out.
It was ok. Dalai Lama didn't say very much interesting.
