The big male mandrill at Audubon Zoo in New Orleans, Louisiana. He sat there for awhile just staring into the distance. I'm sure he like to be out of his pen.
Alto Vista Chapel is a small Catholic chapel also known as "Pilgrims Church" that stands on the hills above the north shore of the sea and to the northeast of the town of Noord, on the island of Aruba, 27 km north of the coast of Venezuela. The church, painted on the outside in stark bright yellow, makes it a conspicuous religious monument for people to visit. The present Chapel of Alto Vista was completed in 1952 and stands in the same location as the original chapel, which was built by Domingo Silvestre, the Venezuelan missionary from Santa Ana de Coro, Venezuela, in 1750.
The new chapel was redesigned and built in 1952 by the Dutch engineer J.A. Hille, deputy head of the DOW (Dienst Openbare Werken), at the same location of an old chapel that measured 50×15 feet (15.2×4.6 m) and with the same orientation. The chapel is encircled by semicircular pews. There are also stone pews on the outside in order to accommodate additional worshipers. It has a few crosses enshrined in it; the ancient Spanish one is one of the oldest European pieces of art in the Dutch Caribbean. An altar statue of Virgin Mary installed after the earlier one was vandalized has local devotees. The structure does not have any stained glass paneled windows but presents a very serene atmosphere for offering prayers. At the border of the old chapel marked by stones, a few graves are also seen. White graves with crosses marking the stations of the Cross surround the chapel. Graves of Domingo Antonio Silvestre and Miguel Enrique Albarez are located near the chapel.

A colour version of a previous one. One of my favourite trees which is probably due to the shape of the ground around it as much as anything.
Just got a voightlander Nokton58mm 1.4 lens to use with nikon D800. The lens is chipped for nikon cameras so no adapter needed. Just a couple of test shots while the light is good . It seems quite a sharp lens in good light. Manual focus only so have to train my eyes to the lens thanks . Yes it was a very bad year for tomatoes.
Thanks Mr Angry photographer YouTube it's the bees knees , the cats , you knows it .
The weather forecast predicted 98% high-level and 0% low-level clouds for sunrise this morning... which was not quite accurate.
We did get some colour in the sky... but not much... and not for long... and not where I needed it.
But hey... this photo is not about Table Mountain or the sky... this photo is all about the foreground!
This is another panorama captured with my multi-camera panoramic-rig.
Parallax errors... hah hah... what's that? This image stitched perfectly! :)
Panorama, 6 x Nikon D3200s, 6 x Nikkor 35 mm prime lenses, ISO of 100, aperture of f/11 with a 1/2 second exposure.
The tree seems to be straining to obtain a great view under the Mesa Arch in Canyonlands National Park.
They are two wonders of nature. Although usually excluded from photos, the tree is very real and is itself a wonder of nature. Consider that it managed to sprout and now to obtain necessary moisture and nutrients from some small fissure in seemingly solid rock. Consider too, the severe arid climate and the thousands of visitors who probably stepped upon its smaller version.
The morning sun reflects off unseen lower rocks and provides a glow on the bottom of the Mesa Arch which frames a view of Canyonlands National Park. Note the arch in the distant butte under the Mesa Arch. The La Sal Mountains are in the distance.
