I Love this Tree. Located In Paphos Cyprus Near St. George Island and Sea Caves. An area with much wind.
An unusual thing to find in the middle of a city.. In the old walled town in Nicosia, Cyprus, in the grounds of a church, a rural style windmill!

Ayia Kyriaki Chrysopolitissa -
This church, which dates from around 1500, is built on the ruins of a much larger late Roman basilica. It's unusual in that it seems to be shared between the Orthodox, Anglican and Latin churches. Perhaps that is because the site is considered especially holy, since the Roman basilica is itself built over or next to a place (presumably the local synagogue) said to have been visited by St Paul (Acts 13:6-12).

Spyros Achilleos Kyprianou (28 October 1932 – 12 March 2002) was a Cypriot barrister and politician, who served as President of Cyprus from 1977 to 1988. He also served as President of the Cypriot House of Representatives from 1976 to 1977 and then again from 1996 to 2001, as well as being President of the Democratic Party, which he founded, from 1976 to 2000. As President, he considerably expanded Cyprus' presence on the international stage. He entered office in acting capacity following the death of President Makarios III in 1977, before being elected unopposed for the rest of Makarios' term in the resulting by-election the following month. He was elected for the next full term in 1978, again unopposed, and re-elected for a second full term 1983, but lost his bid to secure a third full term in 1988.
This is one of the many photos that I took at Six Mile Cyprus Slough in Fort Meyers, FLA. The sun streamed through the foliage creating marvelous views of flora and fauna.
"Bald Cypress
In the wild, bald cypress (Taxodium distichum) can live up to 600 years, and are usually found near streams and rivers, as well as swamps with slow moving water. They grow throughout the Atlantic coastal region, as far west as southeastern Texas, and as far north as Delaware. The massive, buttressed trunks found on older bald cypress are thought to develop in response to growing in soft, wet soil." -University of Florida/IFAS
Note- Like northern trees they lose their leaves in the winter.
Had a few moments at a work conference to grab sunset. not a great deal of foreground interest but the pebbles reflected the sun nicely.
Agrós (Αγρός) is the main village of the Pitsiliá area in the Troodos Mountains in Cyprus. Some years ago a hotel was built there, the Ródon Hotel, which is a joined effort of the inhabitants and people originating from the village but are now in the bigger towns, in order to generate jobs and income for their village. The Rodon Hotel is very popular with both Cypriots and tourists visiting the Troodos region.
Agros produces mainly fruit. Therefore it has become a centre of processing these fruit into all sorts of preserves, jams, compote in small workshops run, mainly, by women of the village.
But the most characteristic product of Agros is the rose, the “Rosa X Damascena”, which is used for the production of rose oil, rosewater, toiletries and even a jam!
