A skilled ironworker helps assemble the inner steel rebar of a 360-foot-long longitudinal pontoon. Once complete, this single pontoon will weigh approximately 22 million pounds, making it heavier than the Eiffel Tower. Photo taken June 20, 2013.
Construction crews are underway on the third cycle of SR 520 bridge pontoons in Aberdeen. In this cycle, crews will build six total pontoons:
• Four longitudinal pontoons (360 ft. x 75 ft. x 29 ft.)
• Two supplemental stability pontoons (98 ft. x 60 ft. x 28 ft.)
Westar tugboat West Point motors into the Aberdeen pontoon casting basin and gets ready to help pull a 360-foot-long longitudinal pontoon out if the basin.
Construction crews working on the SR 520 Pontoon Construction Project took advantage of an extra-high tide Oct. 5, 2013, to float six concrete pontoons into the Chehalis River. These pontoons comprise the third of six pontoon construction cycles and are destined for Lake Washington to form the backbone of the new SR 520 floating bridge.

Ironworkers could be seen by the dozen, hard at work on the third cycle of six pontoons under construction at the Aberdeen casting basin. Once complete, these pontoons will be floated out and towed to Lake Washington, where they will form the foundation for the new SR 520 floating bridge.

The SR 520 Pontoon Construction Project will provide 33 of the 77 pontoons needed for the new SR 520 floating bridge on Lake Washington. As of the date of this photo, June 20, 2013, crews have completed two cycles in Aberdeen and work is underway on the third cycle.

The third pontoon construction cycle included four longitudinal pontoons and two supplemental stability pontoons. The 360-foot-long longitudinal pontoons will help form the backbone of the new bridge, while the supplemental pontoons provide additional stability and flotation. We’ve now finished 38 of 77 pontoons needed for a new SR 520 floating bridge that will serve the region for 75 years or more.
Here is our shot for the theme that had us all washed up. I, myself, am not so happy with the results. A lot of the other contestants have computers to edit shots, etc, I do not, so its harder on me to make scenes etc. But in a way, I do enjoy it, LOL, It's gonna be a weaker shot, as other contestants have amazing shots! But overall, Sonya was very hard to pose underwater! LOL, she kept floating above water etc, so I had to hold her foot down in. I love her hair and skin complection though. I wish I had more props as well. A lot has been going on with my family life, so its been tough to redo a pic... And Sonya broke, just my luck! But for now, we will do better next theme!
Sonya: "This theme was difficult, I'm a terrible swimmer, so it was definitely an experience! I did, however overcome my fear of water. MrPandaSir original Swimsuit and photo. His assistant wasn't around at the time, but she liked the photo just as much. So Angela, (Carla) Here's my best so far. Don't be too harsh, ha ha!"
Tied-off for safety, crews set up wooden formwork that will be used to create the cast-in-place concrete that connects the internal panels. These internal cells enhance the durability and floatation of the pontoons.

GISELLE
Thirteen times, I have cycled 575 miles (from San Francisco to Los Angeles) in a bike ride event now titled AIDSLifecycle.
And thirteen times, I have completed the ride knowing I did the right thing.
In June 2011, for my 14th Year, I will participate in AIDSLifecycle .
I am committed to cycling (perhaps for you) from San Francisco to Los Angeles, 545 miles, in seven days. Also, I am committed to raising well beyond the $3,000 (per cyclist) fund raising minimum.
And through a relationship with you individually or with your company, I can continue to assist those whom are confronted with the challenges which AIDS inflicts upon them.
The Event has many intangible benefits you can be proud of -- like the advertising that helps increase awareness about AIDS; like the way it empowers HIV positive cyclist; like the way the 2, 500 cyclist get people talking about AIDS as they go out and seek sponsorships; like the children that line the streets to cheer on the cyclist and get a firsthand experience of heroism; or like the way the bike ride teaches people that we can work together to solve our problems. These are the things that make this event so remarkably magical. These are important reasons to give as well. And these are only some of things you can count on the AIDSlifecycle Event to deliver.

INTENTION:
to use the door as a design element for the page, then fill the page.
The door is a template for current medical information.
Ideas:
*Make a rubber stamp of the door, then fill out the current info.
*Make a template to be glued on the page. I would need to make sure the paper could take ink and watercolor.
I ended up just drawing the door each time, but rarely was up to doing more sketching.
I start cycle 4 of Interleukin 2 (for metastatic melanoma) next Monday September 26. It is pretty intense 5-7 days in the hospital, but I will try to do some sketching.
In June 2011, for my 14th Year, I will participate in an event to benefit the S.F. AIDS Foundation called AIDSLifeCycle. Each year, I cycle 575 miles (from S.F to L.A, CA.). And, I complete the ride knowing I did the right thing.
And with each completion of the 575 mile trek from San Francisco to Los Angeles, I celebrate by participating in the AIDSLifecycle Contingent for the San Francisco Gay Pride Parade.
And this year, I put the spandex aside & sported my PINK TUTU!!!!!!!!!!!
