I couldn’t believe my luck and timing when taking this abstract photo of colourful road markings in London.
"Solitary Cycle"
A fitting image for my day. I've finally fixed up my bike to working order. I managed to teach myself how to replace a derailleur, change over all the cables and finally have it all good to go! I found this bike in a sorry state a couple years ago, it was tossed into a pile of bushes left to rust. I've been tinkering with it ever since, and I think it's finally in a good spot!

6542 miles in 2022. It will be in the 30s (F) for a few days. But at least no snow accumulation yet!
Amsterdam is an amazing place for many things, but the one that caught my heart and soul is bikes. They are everywhere - chained to the street light or the fence, roads and paths are flooded with it. The Western Cycle building came down this week in order to make way for the Valley Line West LRT expansion. The iconic store and its sign stood on 124 Street for 80 years. I shot this photo in August 2019.
The sign was salvaged for the Edmonton neon sign museum.

Much ink has been spilled over the Corrupt Vision Vancouver obsession with bikes. City Hall has been criticized for the Hornby bike lanes, lack of enforcement against Critical Mass protesters , the suggestion of removing parking along Stanley Park's Pipeline Road for more cycle paths and for looking at radical changes to the Granville and Cambie bridges, to name just a few And of course for trying to put poor people on bicycles while Foliticians drive huge German gas guzzlers
