Got this used from Amazon for about $8 (including shipping). This 1994 publication should be in all cybergeek's library. It's an artifact of a time when the Internet first became publicly accessible. Trebor thinks of it as a search engine before one existed. I see it as a precursor of wikipedia.

My second foray into Second Life - I found this kind of library of cyberculture theory. Finally in a virtual world I manage to get the mullet of my dreams, and do some light reading.

As we all know, the internet runs door-to-door through a series of tubes, not wires like these. Hear Ted Stevens explain by listening to Educast #60.

I was unable to totally disable my articles, because of the mechanics of the site.

I did turn my profile dark, on January 18th 2012, to protest SOPA and PIPA.

RS Wiki is a fansite, which provides information for millions of Runescape players.

It didn't go the whole hog (unlike it's mother company, Wikipedia), but did get the message across on January 18th 2012.

While the thumbnails showed each picture, as it had been uploaded, clicking on them would result in the protest notice.

This post is about a project which is meant to demonstrate that music can actually be sold under a Creative CommonsLicence.

Most songs for the LP created by Musik is already free for download, the only difference now and what may make this work atractive for buying is the work done by any artist who wishes to contribute.

Anything will do which fits in a CD case: design, video art, photography, art and of course, the music. This project has already started and projected to be delivered the following year 2006.

The photos on the post are a test of what the cd covers might be like. A full piece is made out of 4 CD's.

What makes these CD covers so special is that they are painted using the encaustic wax technique, which gives them an incredible texture.

The subject is also apealing to geek nature. Electronic circuits for your cyberculture perusual.

I hope you enjoy the painting and the project. :-)
