A trip with friends up to Cutter Ranch near Clinton, BC to meet our young lambs before they are slaughtered in a couple months. We then stayed the weekend at Loon Lake for some relaxing, cooking, and of course eating!

I spotted this in a front garden, and was taking some photos without realising the home owner was working on his carport. He came across to ask me if I knew what it was - I didn't! So he told me it's a chaff cutter (not working), he'd rescued from some scrap on a farm.

The Cutters were the work boats needed to help maintain and run a large battleship like. Classed as sea boats the Cutters were used for tasks such as carrying men from ship to ship. They were also used when surveying and mapping coastlines and rivers.

Tonight at Bexhill photo club we have a print panel competition. We have one every year and as I'm the print secretary I can't really get away with not entering. At 11pm ish last night I finally settled down to figure out what I was going to do and by 1am I had 10 prints, which I mounted this afternoon. So once again, I'm last-minute.com!

Images from the Cutter Cup Golf Championship played between the turfgrass science programs of Penn State and Michigan State. Penn State retained the cup this year finishing 4-1 in their matches. The event was hosted by Frank Dobie and The Sharon Golf Club

I got to thinking more about the mini plug cutter and how to make it more sharp. So I tried cutting more of a 45 degree angle and not putting any teeth in it and it worked better! Check out those nice long plugs!
