I am working at the moment on a book in quite an extreme landscape format.
One of the difficulties is that generally the more pull there is on the binding and the spine, the stiffer you would want to make the spine. In this case, however, I still want the book to open completely flat.
For a book that opens completely flat, I would usually choose a Coptic binding, but with such an extreme landscape format, I don't want to choose a binding which only makes use of simple chain stitches and the strength of the binding thread.
This here was a first trial with the (butterfly) buttonhole binding.
