In Memory of Stefán Karl Stefánsson. He was Number One!

MARYBETH, THE KENKU BARBARIAN.

This is my second character for the Greymane's Haven Adventuring Guild ongoing challenge hosted over on @greymane_guild om Instagram! As these characters come together, you may start to notice a theme...

Marybeth is a frightening, small, yet imposing raven-like humanoid known as a Kenku, and is a Barbarian of the Path of the Berserker. She wields a number of bone daggers and shortswords handcrafted and sharpened by her best friend, Sythil, and employs them to devastating effect. Though she has an impeccable memory when her interest is piqued, her selective enthusiasm often ends up coming back to bite her when a mission isn't completed quite how the client requested it to be. Her intense gaze and movements often unnerve those not familiar with her behavior, but her allies know that her loyalty runs somehow deeper than even her ferocity.

Mr. Freeze and his henchmen are robbing a bank but there is one person who does not approve this. The Dark Knight is in charge and he is going to cancel the withdrawal.

This is Yotsuba. She's the main character of one of my favorite mangas, "Yotsuba&!" by Kiyohiko Azuma.

The hair is sculpted out of greenstuff and it wasn't necessary to paint it because her hair needs to be green :)

To paint the other parts I used Revell Aqua Colors. It's the first time I painted a whole face but I'm happy with how it turned out. I also shortened the legs to make her smaller.

Hope you like it! :)

Inspired by Call of Duty 4, but still a moc! Leave me comments and tell me how you like it!

Minifigs reimagined to look like Singaporeans. They are photographed in residential parts of Singapore in tribute to the nation's 52nd birthday on August 9th 2017.

Growing up, one of my favorite PS2 games was Scooby Doo: Night of 100 Frights. With all the cool crazy monsters you encounter in that game, it's such a shame that LEGO only made a handful of villains.

I knew this guy as the monster in Night of 100 Frights with the crazy laugh! He's very silly, and a character I would LOVE Lego to actually make.

CHRISTMAS TREANT, THE FESTIVE FIR FELLOW.

Happy #monstermonday and Happy Holidays! This is my entry into the #HolidayMonsterSmash challenge being hosted by @bricksanFELLOW. over on Instagram, and is a build I've been excited to make for quite a while! The Christmas Treant is a creature that would fit perfectly in a holiday-themed D&D one-shot, and opens up a lot of fun possibilities for story. How long has the treant been festive? Who decorates the treant? Is the decor itchy? How do they get the topper on? While in my world, the holiday isn't called Christmas, there is, in fact, a festive treant whose story inspired the tradition of decorating trees for those that celebrate. For a fun little bit of lore regarding it, read on! Swipe through to the end to see the Treant both alternatively decorated in ornaments and undecorated!

Ages ago, when the Dwarven holiday of Gotmas was still in its infancy, there existed a quaint little village nestled into the Lower Gottim Mountain Range. The village was known for being one of the few Dwarven settlements that saw snow fall in the winter. The village had befriended an ancient creature known as a Treant—a living, walking, thinking tree—and had many years of friendship with the being. They would often trade gifts, and occasionally play light-hearted pranks on each other. One fateful Gotmas Eve, however, a group of young Dwarves in the village noted that the Treant never had any holidays to celebrate, and planned to rectify it with a practical joke of their own.

That night, while the Treant was rooted and fast asleep, the Dwarves snuck out with a coil of colorful magelights affixed to a white, silvery rope—the same kind of garlands they decorated their homes with. They crept into the grove where the Treant slept and set themselves to work. Vibrant twinkles of blue, red, yellow, and green now lit up the ancient being, topped off with a golden star ornament. When the Dwarves were done decorating, they woke up the Treant, grins plastered across their faces. When the Treant awoke, however, he did not revel in their amusement, for he thought the young Dwarves had set him on fire. The Treant found a newfound pep in his step and chased the Dwarves through the woods, their laughter quickly turning to panic.

When the Treant had finally reached the village, and the Dwarvish youths had run out of breath, he stopped, and looked around. People had started to come out of their houses at the commotion of the Treant's thunderous footsteps, and beheld the sight. As the Treant surveyed the Dwarves he had called friends, and they surveyed him, they began to ooh and ah. The crowd that had gathered started to remark on how lovely the Treant looked in the magelights, and how fitting the gold star atop the canopy was. The Treant slowly began to see that the decorations that covered his leafy branches matched those that the Dwarves had strung up on their roof eaves.

"Merry Gotmas, Mr. Treant!" cried the young Dwarves, who had finally caught their breath. The crowd began to chime in, echoing their sentiment, and wishing good tidings to the ancient plant. The Treant started to laugh, as the Dwarves gathered around him and sung their Gotmas songs, dancing and playing in the colorfully lit night. Since that fateful Gotmas Eve, the tradition of decorating trees in ornaments and magelights began to spread to all who celebrated Gotmas. It's said that each year, the youths of that village still go up into the woods to decorate the Treant, and bring him gifts. To Dwarves all around the world who celebrate the age-old tradition of Gotmas, there's no question about it: it's truly the most wonderful time of the year.

Just finished painting these guys and I’m quite happy with them so far.

There is a big gun deal happening in Maxico. El Sombrero, Scorpiana, Livewire and Flamingo are planning to take over and steal all guns and sell the stuff themselves to Gotham's crime bosses.

But it's never that simple cause here are Jonah Hex, Duchess, Plastic Man and Bronze Tiger and they are ready for action.

Find these and many other figures from Atomic Bricks

This version is almost perfect. Beautiful pad prints, the only flaws are it’s kinda like a statue. You can’t move the arms without risk of messing up the shoulder pads. The sword is a nice mold but falls short due to the paint scratching off when it’s in his cape. The figure seems to be heavily based on the 1997 Anime adaptation, with guts with a darker skin tone than usually depicted. The highlights of the figure are the hair mold and the amazing crossbow arm/hand. Overall worth picking up for the crossbow and hair and for the sake it’s pad print. 7/10

THE GREAT BATTLE OF GOTMAS.

Merry Christmas to those who celebrate, and Happy Holidays to those who don't! When I made my recent habitat series, I initially wanted to make six, with one for each of these characters, but ultimately ran out of time. Still, I wanted to share them all with you anyways, so I hope you enjoy these festive (and not so festive) folks! If you're interested in the lore at all, read on!

While many people associate the dwarven holiday of Gotmas with Father Gotmas(for obvious reasons), the holiday was originally a far less merry celebration. Translating in dwarvish to mean "day of triumph," Gotmas was a celebration of the victory that Gotramor and the Elysians brought to the dwarves when they ousted the old, warmongering dwarvish king, and fulfilled the promise of finally ending the Unending Wars. For centuries, it was a holiday celebrated with a great feast, though minus some of the revelry and fun decor. When Nikolaj Frostbeard began to see families down on their luck struggle to partake in any sort of preparation for a large feast, he decided to take the holiday a bit further.

After years of helping out struggling dwarves with treats, desserts, baked goods, and eventually even toys and gifts, he had become quite the hot topic. The cheer he was so resolute to spread drew the ire from even those that lie buried under the earth, forgotten by society. It's said that a Duergar from deep in the Underdark resented the Gotmas celebrations so much, he took it upon himself to ruin them one year. The Duergar—known as Vladimir Krampuscan—heard tale of Nikolaj's exploits, sourcing all of his gifts and merriment from a "Realm of Wishes," and decided to venture there himself.

Vlad decided one day, when Nikolaj was on his way to enter the Realm of Wishes, to sabotage his mission and venture in after him, though he failed to properly account for the manner of Nikolaj's portal. Taunting the dwarf, he warned that Gotmas would cease to be, and tackled Nikolaj through the wormhole. Without a specific setting in mind as he crossed through, however, he plunged into darkness, tumbled through time and space, and fell unconscious. When he finally came to in the Realm, he discovered himself in a place where all the extremes had collided, and wishes that defied one another came to do battle. The opposing wishes chose to align themselves with two primordial forces, whose endless battle was thought impossible to resolve.

Krampuscan stood before a world half frozen by the harrowing winds of winter, and half ablaze with the scorching flames of summer heat. It was there that he met the Miser of Heat and the Miser of Snow. In a twisted turn of fate, he was somehow able to persuade them to pause their conflict, and direct their war and aggression elsewhere—somewhere their destructive might and potential could actually be realized. Now with command over ice and flames, Vladimir carved a portal into the ground, and brought his newfound allies into the world whence he came, ready to destroy Gotmas once and for all.

It is said that in his ambush, Nikolaj landed in a distant region in the Realm of Wishes, and had to venture a long, long way back to his workshop, the place from where he could return to his world. Along the way, he met a couple of allies who swore to help him, believing in his cause. Vixenia and Merry, thus, joined Nikolaj and journeyed far to reach his workshop. Stepping through his portal, he found his home in turmoil.

The city was besieged by Krampuscan and his sinister allies, spreading their destruction throughout the streets. Houses burned, shops froze over, and Nikolaj's people suffered. He took up arms, resolving to slay the Duergar and the interlopers, or die trying. When it seemed that all hope was lost, and ol' Frostbeard would meet his end that day, he was joined by two familiar friends.

Vixenia and Merry had journeyed from their world to his, to aid him in his fight to save Gotmas. An epic battle ensued, which inspired many a Gotmas song, and the tides had finally been turned. With Vixenia's sage wisdom on the balance of nature, and Merry's sound persuasive abilities and quick thinking, the Misers of Heat and Snow were once again pitted against each other, as Nikolaj delivered the final blow to Krampuscan. It is said the Defiler of Gotmas evaporated as Nikolaj's sacred hammer swung that final blow, leaving no body behind. With the remaining adversaries distracted by each other, the Guardians of Gotmas banished them back to their home plane, and ended the battle.

Vixenia and Merry stayed thereafter, aiding Nikolaj in his efforts to clean up the town, and restore his people's cheerful festive spirit, no matter how many years it took. The legendary exploits of Frostbeard earned him the moniker of "Father Gotmas," and dwarves all over the continent began to honor his bravery and mimic his gift-giving traditions. To most of the continent of Ridgar, Gotmas is simply a dwarven day of celebration and presents, but to dwarves themselves, it is a celebration of resilience, community, and the triumph of good over evil. While the damage of the Great Battle of Gotmas has long since been healed, the great irony remains: in his efforts to defile the holiday spirit of the dwarves, Krampuscan only ended up giving the dwarves even more reason to spread festive cheer.
