Beautiful car, would probably look even better with its hood.

Few cars ever matched this model for pure excess!

Legendary custom painter Larry Watson built this '50 Chevy sedan while still in High School. It appears here in a prior iteration with plum purple paint. The clone, which is the subject of the rest of the photos in this set, is of a later version featuring scallops. Also, the fender skirts have been removed.

This Photoshop composite has the "Grapevine" in almost exactly the spot where the original was photographed for the Custom Cars magazine cover. The car seen here is the clone and the background shot is from a couple of years ago.

Visit on March 6, 2015 to the Detroit Autorama, America's greatest hot rod show, as it is billed. More than 1000 cars are displayed on two levels, with a few of them actually being authentic original-style classics.

Tiny snapshot measuring 2" square. The car is interesting because it appears to be lower in the front than the back. Known as the "Dago" look, this style didn't become popular until the mid 1950s. The photo dates from 1946.

A classic 60s lowrider look!

Two door "Fleetline" was the sleekest of the model line.
