E adesso? Son de novo qua in giardin,
ma go i cavei de argento e vado storto,
no’ go più mama o sorela vizin
e son oltre i setanta e presto in porto! "
Public Garden, a green legacy of Trieste that was.
It was the year 1852, when the Podestà Muzio de Tommasini issued a municipal notice announcing the park project. The desire for entertainment of the Belle Époque saw the Garden become the daily venue for concerts and musical competitions, with bands and prominent musicians.
Nowadays the Public Garden has lost this original vocation for entertainment, despite the fact that the open-air cinema survives in the summer months.

The Monument to the Dynasty is a monument in honor of King Leopold I of Belgium in Laeken Park, Brussels. The monument is located on Place de la Dynastie (Dynasty Square) atop a 50-meter-high hill. It marks the end of a monumental axis that begins at the gate of Laeken Castle and leads to the monument after crossing the Avenue du Parc Royal via Avenue de la Dynastie.
The monument was designed by the architect Louis De Curte in a Neo-Gothic style. It was built between 1878 and 1880 through a national subscription initiated by King Leopold II. It is intended to commemorate the founding of the dynasty by his father, whom he succeeded as King of the Belgians in 1865. This monument was inaugurated by the royal family on July 21, 1880, on the occasion of the 49th anniversary of the enthronement of King Leopold I of Belgium and the 50th anniversary of Belgian independence.
At the center of a nine-bay gallery, each bay symbolizing one of the nine former Belgian provinces, stands a sculpture of Leopold I. A nearly 50-meter-high spire, topped with a golden crown, rests on this substructure.
Above the statues of the nine Belgian provinces, a Belgian lion holds the coat of arms of the province in question. At the rear of the monument, on the north side, a staircase provides access to a viewing platform above the peristyle. This walkway passes beneath flying buttresses adorned with small gargoyles.
The statue of Leopold I was sculpted by Guillaume Geefs, who also created the statue of Leopold I on the Congress Column. The statues representing the provinces were made by other sculptors, including Thomas Vinçotte, Charles Van der Stappen, Adolphe Fassin, Antoine Van Rasbourgh, and Charles Brunin.
The monument was renovated in 2001 for the Belgian presidency of the European Union. It remains closed to the public due to fears of vandalism.

Paphiopedilum King Arthur is an orchid hybrid originated by J.Crombleholme in 1915. It is a cross of Paph. Bingleyense (1899) x Paph. Monsieur de Curte.
the genus is a member of the subfamily Cypripedioideae, commonly referred to as the "lady's-slippers" or "slipper orchids" due to the unusual shape of the pouch-like labellum of the flower. The pouch traps insects seeking nectar, and to leave again they have to climb up past the staminode, behind which they collect or deposit pollinia.
