An archive shot from last spring.

A hat to match the size of her sadness...

I'm sick and it's pretty bad... I hate being sick, I look like crap, feel like crap and everything hurts, aaaaggggrrr :/

Explored #48 on June 21, 2009. Thank you!

I'm getting a lot of use out of my Sumac tree this year. My eyes are bug-eyed from all of the Macro I've been doing lately. Still more Fall shots to come, not enough time to process them all.

AAW Aug 4 - 11: Curls

WIT: I'm on vacation at the moment, so am a little limited in regards to peripherals, but on a walk around our bed and breakfast, I saw this leaf in the garden about to uncurl, but still in a curled form.

Smile on Saturday: Light painting

I don't do a lot of light painting -- it's fun! Here, the colours come from a green flashlight and some blue LED finger lights for kids. To get the wider bands with what look like folds in them, I taped bits of fishing line across the lens in a random pattern -- an idea I saw on YouTube.

The curl is composed of a bunch of paper strips glued together just at the tip. Folded at the tip for a bit, then curved.

This is the color version of one of the black and white Dandy Curls series from last month.

Same iPhone and Olloclip Macro Lens kit as usual and edited on the iPad first in Snapseed for square crop.

Then into Oggl for the color version using the Americana Lens and Blanko Freedom13 Film.

Once I get into Oggl it seems I can stay there for hours developing lots of versions of each photo. My poor old iPad is groaning under the weight of all my versions.

Maybe a type of pampas grass, but I don't know.

More marvellous marigold flowers on the way...

Curious shapes of the leaves of a fern / Curiosas formas de las hojas de un helecho

The color version of this leaf. I posted the black and white version back in February.

The little leaf was very dry and crispy but still so very green. It was surprising to find they crumbled if you touched them too hard.

Zilker Botanical Garden - Austin, Texas

Still busy at the exhibition, til Sunday evening. Also working at the Book Fair at my youngest son's school later today and baking for a fund raising event for my eldest son's school. We have visitors arriving tonight for the weekend. Oh, and my two teenage sons are playing in a basketball tournament too.

I'll catch up as soon as I find time to breathe!

HFF! xoxo

Silver glass curls on a caramel glass bead. This is another handmade lampwork glass bead, this time intended for a bracelet. It's quite small really, but I attached a 16mm extension tube to my usual 90mm macro lens to get closer. The base is part of a gift card.
