Discovering the world around us

We all know what the proverb is about a curious cat. Hoping this one stays well, made me smile when I was in the Philippines 2024.

A different kind of rover.

The theme for caturday is curiosity. You can always tell when the local little critters are about because she goes into intense curiosity mode. #caturday

This particular hare is almost always found in exactly the same spot, and normally dashes away when first seen. On this day, I was especially still, and it approached and calmly carried on with its breakfast, until a passing vehicle sent it rocketing off into the safety of the crops again.

A very curious and funny cat.

Do not hesitate to leave critics about what you don't (or do) like. Thanks, and have a beautiful day !

Verreaux’s (Black) Eagle.

I've always been fascinated by birds, and when the opportunity presented itself, I captured as many frames as possible. This eagle was quite calm and relaxed.

I was looking for that "X-factor"...

Ensconced in my “hide” (my vehicle) with the blistering sun beating down, sitting motionless became an extreme test for photographic devotion. I moved my arm, and the eagle’s curiosity was just what I wanted...!

Hope you will enjoy this photo.

Family of Mallards: The mallard is a dabbing duck that breeds throughout temperate climates. Drakes have a glossy green head and are grey on wings and the belly while the hens have mainly brown-speckled plumage. Both sexes have an area of white-bordered black or iridescent blue feathers on their wings.

Not a fine focus.. but the expressions was unique!!

Two year old male domestic shorthaired cat (Felis catus) named "PurrC" enjoying some (supervised) time on the patio today. He was adopted 5/21/18 from the San Diego Humane Society.

Nutsy hasn't decided if he's coming into my patio or not, I guess we can say he's on the fence about it!

The curious life of Wilson and Cricket.

Conjoined twins separated at birth, they have finally found each other and feel whole once again.

I think that if we lose our curiosity there is nothing;

there is no reflection and,

therefore,

no knowledge

And there's no chance of knowing

to reach the end of something.

Incuriously,

you are not directly alive.

First light along the Outer Banks of North Carolina brought out these two rather curious deer, both of which seemed to be interested in what a couple of humans might be doing on this remote stretch of coastline so early in the morning.

Had they asked, we would've politely explained that we were looking to do some landscape photography, but would be more than happy to switch gears now that they had arrived on the scene. ;) These two little guys stuck around for a few seconds, as they were a bit skittish about the rapid fire clicking of our camera's shutter.

Although their visit was brief, they were kind enough to pose for this golden hour portrait while surrounded by some magnificent Coastal Carolina landscape.
