The sky was ever-changing this evening at sunset so I participated in the fun.

Tradewinds bring pastel cumulus clouds across the Pacific to the windward coast of tropical islets on a quiet morning. The peninsula and islets are home to seabird nesting colonies.

Towers of Cumulus clouds build up - will be rain in the afternoon

Cumulus: A dense, white, fluffy, flat-based cloud with a multiple rounded top and a well-defined outline, usually formed by the ascent of thermally unstable air masses.

Driving east on I-70 I could see a bank of cumulus clouds rising in the east, when the sunset light from the west lit them up I had to stop. This was taken just off the Stratton Colorado exit on I-70.

This cloud eventually developed into a strong thunderstorm. Although it looked intense, no rain was falling at this stage of development.

CHDK Canon A700 capturing at 1 frame every 10 seconds. Mencoder generated an avi at 24 fps. Wind 10-15 kts from the SE. Camera aimed at 310 degrees. Location just west of I95 in central Palm Beach Country.

The remnants of Hurricane Zeta produced some summer-like cloud formations as seen from the very ridge of the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia.

The rain let up enough to walk down to our clustered mailboxes.

Then it resumed and lasted quite awhile.

I had really liked how this one cumulus was isolated against the huge cumulonimbus with mammatus.

All edited on the phone in Snapseed.

On the way to Barcelona !
