With intermittent sun but decent cloud I opted to go "sun wrong-side" for this shot of Colas Tug 60085 doing the honours at Helsby Junction this evening with the 11.59 Carlisle - Chirk Kronospan logs (6J37).
Always nice to see the splendid signal box there plus a hint of the station architecture which, although out of use, has been nicely restored as a Grade II Listed building.

It is very seldom we get these clouds so well defined so close. - We usually have too many of them so it is difficult to get a good photography view of their beautiful form.
Our offshore helicopters hate them though, or at least are grieved by them.
There is an ugly (at least in this light) factory to the right resulted in a forced crop so i didn't included the tail of the cloud. - But you can finish it in your imagination. It was probably very feminine and dancerlike.

Amazing cloud! This cumulus congestus rapidly formed in the early afternoon. In 30 minutes time a massive pileus formed in the center section of the cloud and then a smaller one briefly formed at the top.
I went to the Port Hueneme pier after work a couple of days ago chasing these clouds, got a couple of snapshots. Hope you all are having a great week so far!!

Being in Dreikirchen, South Tyrol the cloud formations changed during the whole day. This massive cloud formation over the Dolomites was worth to take the panorama. Standing in front of this scenery I felt that mankind is weaker than nature!
Panorama was stitched in LR cc from 6 captures @:

Lens: EF70-200mm F/2.8L IS II USM

Pretty rare to have no cars in the lot at Crown Point an hour before sunset on a spring evening. Probably the only reason I stopped... that and the clouds.

We're only in suburbia but it's nice to dream of far off places. This sunshine and showers sky had me thinking of high, snow-capped Himalayan peaks.
