So in this time iof social distancing I bought myself a Cricut. This is one the first projects I designed.

Joyeux Noël et très bonne année 2025 à vous tous mes amis (es) Flicker.

Very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of you my Flickr Friends!

This wish card was hand made by my sister. She is a Cricut specialist :)

Cette jolie carte de souhaits a été fabriquée par ma soeur qui est une spécialiste Cricut. Elle fait de très belles choses, je suis émerveillée chaque fois.

Another day in the life of a 365, my wife craft room. These are vinyl rolls that she uses to make things like bags in her Cricut machine.

This cake was designed for a very special woman - Kathy! Once my client, she became a very dear friend of mine!

Her dear husband asked for a surprise cake, both for him and Kathy. The things I knew were that she loved weddings and princesses, and that her Birthday party was about pink, silver, red, love and sparkle. That was enough for me!

For this card I was inspired by the cards of Yana Smakula. She used some beautiful golden frames on her cards. I admire her work and I liked it to make something familiar. I remembered the filigree elements on the "Straight from the nest" cartridge of my Cricut machine. And so I cut one out of golden cardstock. And than added a beautiful Hero Arts flower. From the first time I saw this "Antique Rose Stem" I was in love with it. Don't you think it is fabulous?! I do! So, I will join the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge of this week: "Fabulous Florals".

I decided to fuze a few different bits of ephemera into my Moleskine journal, in an effort to not waste any bob or bit. I had already slapped down the Godzilla vector a year ago knowing that I would eventually return to the page.

I had several prints of some of my work that the layout was messed up, so I needed to figure out how to use them up. That’s where the Cricut come in handy. I just simply cut them into different shapes and adhered them to the pages.

The next step will be to add more paint and some eBrushing to the spread so stay tuned.

Toodles!

When your wife buys a Cricut machine and tasks you with learning it.. that and I'm over folks asking "is that a Canon/Nikon?"..

Jungle cake

cakes.keyartstudio.com/cake-blog/item/52-jungle-cake.html

Jungle cake for an adult party. Instead of making cartoonish fondant animals that would fit perfectly any kids cake, I opted for the elegance and simplicity of black silhouettes. Rice paper butterflies, fondant snake, wild lianas, animal skin prints ribbon around the bottom tier - all edible.

Silhouettes are Icing Sheets, airbrushed with black and cut on Cricut.

Peacock feathers are real.

30 servings, chocolate cake with truffle filling.

Here’s a view of some of the tools my wife uses to make her Cricut creations. On top is the machine itself. You will also see a grey outline of scissors, which shows what goes there. The outline (all of them) were made using the Cricut.

Used the cling stamp Snowy House.Colored it with Derwent Color soft pencils. Added white paint at the edges and sprinkled Hero Arts Prisma Glitter on it while the paint was wet. Cut some trees with my cricut and did the same as the house with the paint and the Prisma Glitter.

25 servings of chocolate cake for a very elegant lady's Birthday party.

Her sister ordered a surprise cake for her and asked for something elegant and sophisticated. She also asked to include some birthday wishes and birthday girl's astrological sign - Leo.

To create this Leo medallion I used this cabinet door knob to create a mold first, but wanted the lion's expression to be softer so I played with it a bit.

To balance this quite masculine part of the cake, I thought I'd add another feminime element: brush embroidery. I thought it would also compliment the big peony and branches of willow Nicely. The willow branches are made of floral wire.

The letters are cut on Cricut and brushed with gold.

Made for the 90 minute Scramble: "Something old (lace), something new ( my newest Hero arts stamp), something shiny ( siver thread and silver paper), something blue ( the flower, button and distress ink)

I've made up about 15 of these bags this year. Each bag has an assortment of handmade Christmas tags in it. I gave one bag to each of the moms at our mother/daughter gingerbread house party.

It's been gorgeous here today - sunny and not much humidity :) I had a ball stamping on the patio and decided to take my pic in front of some pretty pink astilbes that are in full bloom right now (too bad I couldn't get the flowers in the photo - LOL!). Had this idea in my head to do some color layering with flowers in a vase so I cut a vase from Cricut Walk in My Garden cart and used the negative space as a mask. Sponged the negative space with Ranger spiced marmalade distress ink and overstamped with K5344 La Letter. Then I color layered various HA stamps: G5311 Silhouette Spray, H5312 Silhouette Burst and an oldie (but goodie!) from 2005 G3664 Leaf with Stitching. This color layering doesn't come easily for me but I enjoy it and it seems to prevent me from going too crazy with layering, etc. :)

TFL! And I hope everyone is enjoying these sunny days of Summer!

All decorative cutouts are cut with cricut cake.
