CRENSHAW DISTRICT - The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a two vehicle collision with four patients in the 3600 block of West Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard on February 9, 2019. LAFD crews worked quickly to free persons trapped in both vehicles, including the critically injured driver of one car who succumbed to his life-threatening injuries shortly after hospital arrival. The three patients from the other car were taken to an area hospital, and are expected to survive their moderate to serious injury. © Photo by Justin Johnson

I first heard Marshall Crenshaw's "Someday, Someway" on KSYM, San Antonio College Radio 90.1 FM and was hooked. Totally worth the 33 year wait -thanks so much for the Irregular Frequency podcast drop! The show was at Sam's Burger Joint March 18th, 2005. Great staff, thanks again Jacob!

It takes its name from the nearby Academy Theater, which predates the Safeway store; I was struck by the expedient adaptation of the "SAFEWAY" signage, five of the letters reused and the "W" miraculously transformed into an "M".
