Crenshaw is home to two major Southern Californian plumbing companies: Jack Stephan, and this plumbing company, Adee Plumbing and Heating, Inc. Founded here 1949.

In 1964 Adee's competitor, Jack Stephan bought Adee and blessed us with clever commercials that have tag lines designed to stick in your head. Adee's is "Adee Do!" as in "Who does plumbing, hearing, and air conditioning?" "Adee Do!" So clever the line, that most people write their checks to the company as "Adee Do!"

The Academy Theater was designed by architect, S. Charles Lee, and built in 1939. The theater was named and built to host the Academy Awards, but was never used for such. It showed first-run films for 25 years, and later showed Blaxploitation films until being sold in 1975 to faith healer, Pastor Doyle Hart, where it used as a church today. cinematreasures.org/theater/7/

Crenshaw Boulevard was closed for 23 days for the "restoration" of the street over the nearly-completed Metro Crenshaw/MLK station.

About half of the traffic lanes are now re-opened, and the remaining lanes have been filled awaiting repaving.
