LOS ANGELES - The Los Angeles Firefighters Association honored 36 year LAFD veteran Captain II Paul Egizi as their 2022 'Firefighter of the Year' at a well attended luncheon ceremony on April 20, 2023, at the landmark Biltmore Hotel.
Paul joined the Department on February 8, 1987, and held the ranks of Paramedic, Firefighter, Apparatus Operator, Captain I and Captain II. In addition to serving in fire stations throughout the City, he has worked in special duty assignments at the Training Academy and Air Operations.
Wanting to contribute even more to the City and his community, Paul served as an Explorer Advisor for several years. He is also a member of the LAFD's Field Incident Management Team as Air Operations Branch Director, and has been involved in key projects and essential development committees.
