The Indian was the double-tongued fiend

While Technicolor cowboy was our man.

We did not know the enemy, by then,

Trustful we watched the movie as it began.

We lived in black and white, as children do

“The sheriff will shot dead the bad outlaw”.

The hero, fair and strong, for what we knew

Would have the farmer’s daughter, and the squaw.

Then we knew better, but it was too late.

We found new myths and pictures, and new heroes

Revealing to ourselves what desecrated

The story of a nation smashed to zero.

Our fathers taught us legends, allowing us to see

Only what suit the story, and hiding the enemy.

I miss you more than I can say, you both,

A split image that is for me not cracked:

The one who loved me, the one that loves me not.

My silence does not mean that I forgot;

I am the mirror: you are still intact.

I miss you more than I can say, you both.

I know you are around, at my earshot

But I don’t know the song that could attract

The one who loved me, the one that loves me not.

Nobody told me how, nobody thought

To explain what it feels like being sidetracked.

I miss you more than I can say, you both.

And now I draw my rope, untying each knot

Searching and probing for the one that lacked:

The one who loved me, the one that loves me not.

I play it as it comes, I have no plot

And you may stay away or interact.

I miss you more than I can say, you both:

The one who loved me, the one that loves me not.

The College of Liberal Arts at Temple University proudly announces a handful of newly renovated “smart” classrooms for the Fall 2012 semester. These rooms, in addition to being refurbished with fresh carpeting, lighting, blinds, and oversized white boards, have been upgraded with a number of technological advances. Students and faculty assigned to the new classrooms will notice new podiums, projectors, screens and control systems.

By Ryan Johnston -

This bed is noiseless, and still

Calming me, as we sink slowly

Like feather ships, to the bottom of this sleep

These blankets that you kicked

Onto the open bedroom floor

Are like frozen ocean waves

Painted in a dream

Your memory blows in

Like a winter snowdrift

It holds me in a cold embrace

In the silent air this morning

Latching on with an icy grip

Piling high inside my mind

With all of the broken things

That I always hoped to fix

The cost for going back to sleep

In this hailstorm of sheep

Is counting only nightmares

That used to be good dreams

The sun has gone away

Diving over the edge

Over the steep mountain railing

Of these western states we lived

And if she could return

If she could find her way back again

Rising from the loneliness of the sea,

Climbing into the Atlantic skyline

Filling up my empty veins

And the stasis in my head

Like a heartbeat tidal wave

A key on a kite string

The sapphire sky you left

Is overflowing ruby red

Draining from my heart

Like a crimson waterfall

Turning every star into mars

Sinking constellations like oxygen ships

Capsized in collapsed lungs

Devastated from restricted breath

In the rapture of the moment you left

And the world I’ve been seeing

Has been upside down ever since

Whatever it was that died

We bury alongside what it was,

That it brought so much life

The wind and rain will cover up the blood

They say time heals, but it never really does

Thanks To Meghann Keeley Stone, for making every idea I have a million times better!

A gift for the artist/writer in your family. These are little journals with a prompt on each page, suitable for creative writing or sketching.

Plenty of options available: original print on hard covers (raw board with fabric spine and fabric corner protection, ) - these are good for those who want to sketch or write on the go; bright coloured soft covers available with original print, digitally remastered print in medium or small.

I lack the time to list them in my shop right now, but you are welcome to contact me directly if you are interested. -- Hope you'll like them. And the prompts of course.

Fiction, poetry, and interviews with new and emerging writers. Contributors: SE Diamond, Kathleen J Stowe, Dave Morrison, William Falo, Ashliegh Gehl, Arlene Ang, CP Stewart, Jason Huskey, Matt Mullins, Michael Ernest Sweet, Ashley Cowger, Sarah E Azizi, Windy Lynn Harris, Shana Kraynak, Geoff Kirsch, and Steve Hicks.
