Artist Statement
The Distance Between Staying examines the moment just before commitment—to leave, to enter, or to remain at the edge.
The figure is intentionally incomplete. By withholding the upper body, I resist expression and gesture, allowing posture and placement to carry meaning instead. What matters here is not who the person is, but where they are willing to stand.
Water becomes a quiet boundary rather than a symbol. The house across it is visible, reachable, and emotionally distant. I am interested in this space between access and action—where longing exists without resolution.
This work belongs to my ongoing exploration of threshold states: places where decisions are implied but never confirmed. I am less interested in answers than in the weight of hesitation itself.

Artist Statement
“Cognition, Interrupted” explores the tension between internal identity and external environment—how thought, memory, and self-perception are shaped, obscured, and sometimes overtaken by the structures we inhabit.
The face emerges not from flesh, but from architecture—suggesting a self constructed by systems rather than solitude. The branches crossing the eyes reference organic growth that is neither gentle nor violent, but inevitable. They do not blind; they filter.
Set within a nocturnal urban landscape, the work reflects a contemporary condition: the mind rooted in nature, yet confined by design. Stillness becomes resistance. Silence becomes form.
This piece is part of my ongoing investigation into liminal identity—where the human figure exists between embodiment and object, presence and erasure.
