#macromondays #multicolor

I decided to share this image for the upcoming #macromondays theme called #multicolor

"Multicolor" means having multiple colors. It refers to something that features a variety of different colors rather than just one or two. The term is often used to describe clothing, artwork, decorations, lights, or any object with multiple hues.

Multicolor refers to an object, design, or surface that contains multiple colors, either in a pattern, gradient, or scattered arrangement. It can be vibrant and eye-catching, blending different hues to create contrast or harmony. Multicolor designs are often associated with creativity, playfulness, and diversity, commonly seen in fashion, art, textiles, decorations, and lighting. The arrangement of colors can be random, symmetrical, or strategically placed to achieve a specific visual effect.

A figurine is a small, three-dimensional sculpture or model that represents a person, animal, deity, or object. Figurines are often made from materials such as porcelain, ceramic, metal, wood, plastic, or resin. They can serve decorative, religious, cultural, or collectible purposes.

Types of Figurines

Decorative Figurines – Often used for home decor, these can include porcelain dolls, crystal animals, or handcrafted wooden sculptures.

Collectible Figurines – Popular among hobbyists, examples include Funko Pop! figures, anime figurines, and action figures from franchises like Marvel, Star Wars, and Pokémon.

Religious and Mythological Figurines – Small statues of deities, saints, or mythological beings used in worship or spiritual practices (e.g., Buddha statues, Hindu god idols, nativity scene figures).

Historical and Archaeological Figurines – Ancient cultures created figurines for ceremonial or artistic purposes, such as Venus figurines from the Paleolithic era or Egyptian ushabti figurines.

Gaming and Tabletop Miniatures – Used in tabletop games like Warhammer, Dungeons & Dragons, and board games, these small figurines represent characters, creatures, or game pieces.

Autumn's Whisper

The leaves drift down, a golden dance,

In autumn’s cool and quiet trance.

Their colors flame, then softly fall,

A gentle blanket, nature’s shawl.

The air is crisp, a fragrant sigh,

Beneath the pale October sky.

It carries whispers, fresh and sweet,

With hints of apples at my feet.

Ripe and red, they beg to bite,

In orchards bathed in amber light.

Each crunch, a song, each scent, a prayer,

To autumn’s magic in the air.

And oh, the pumpkins, round and bright,

Their orange glow, a cozy sight.

In every pie and every brew,

They bring the warmth that autumn grew.

So here I stand, in fall’s embrace,

With every sound and every taste.

A season’s kiss, both wild and clear,

I breathe it in—my favorite time of year.

Yes, it's the smoke from an incense cone. I absolutely loved this challenge and have done many shots. This was one of my favourites because it almost looks like soft floaty fabric rather than smoke. Photographing smoke has quite captivated me. I super love learning new skills and this has been a magical experience. 😍

Luke Ramsey is awesome. He creates beautiful, intricate pieces of artwork that include zines, murals, paintings and prints. He also runs Islands Fold, an independent publisher and artist residency in B.C., Canada.

We ran into Luke last summer at the Portland Zine Symposium, and saw him sketching in a Scout Book! Quickly gave him another, and within weeks he had filled it up and sent us images. At long last, here is what the fantastic Luke Ramsey did with the 32 grid pages of a Scout Book.

Awesome! Thanks, Luke.

Fun, funky work from Amy Martino! Amy is a NYC based graphic designer and illustrator, and her bright, textured work has us swooning.

She dressed this Scout Book up in ways we've never seen! Hot pink and neon green paper? Yes, please.

Oh yes, and metallic gold. Don't forget about the metallic gold.

Every day this week, we’ll share a new Scout Book filled with creative goodness from the members of Chicago collaborative The Post Family. Awesome!

Alex Fuller makes beautiful, bright, bold work. In addition to being a partner at The Post Family, Alex is the co-founder of the Illustration Corporation and helped create Ogilvy’s brand design group, 485. Alex, you're a very busy guy!

We very excited that he took the time to fill this Scout Book so expertly with collage work. We even see some letterpress bits and pieces in there!

Built in 1890 by Irwin S. DeFord, self-described "money-lender" and capitalist. The DeFord Building is perhaps the gem of Joseph Foucart's architecture in Downtown Guthrie.

The sidewall, facing "Government Acre" surrounding the Land Office, an area more distinguished than its front, Featuring contrasting-colored arched windows with worked wooden fans above corbelled brick, with a small turret marking the south end. Detailed acanthus leaves decorate capitals of defining pillars.

DeFord lived upstairs in the building when completed, and the New York Clothiers (Cohen and Strauss) were on the first floor. By 1892, however, the U. S. Post Office temporarily replaced the clothing store. Offices for lawyers were located on the 2nd floor. The U. S. Courtroom was located in the basement until the Federal Building (Post Office and Courtroom) was completed in 1903.

Flora M. Wills purchased the building in 1904. She and her first husband Joseph Wills, operated their general store there. Later, the store was used exclusively for furniture, and they added the Willis Building immediately south in 1914.

After Willis died, his widow operated the store alone until she married B. W. Kightlinger in 1923, and he joined her in the business. She died in 1955 and Mr. Kightliner continued operation of the store through 1981. Both the Deford and the Willis Buildings have been scrupulously maintained by the owners.

I had multiple images created for this week's theme of Fantastical in "52 Weeks of 2022," and I finally settled on this one because I like the golden pearls in the atmosphere.

I headed to Hayswood Reserve to capture a sunset after a couple of days with rain. Usually, that would have left clouds that reflected a pretty aura of color off the setting sun, but this night, the clouds and sky moisture completely disappeared.

From that image, I headed to my Android Mirror Lab app to add the water reflection and then trap the whole thing in a globe. Then I took the globe to my KVAD Photo Pro app and added layers of decor, a 3D shadow, and a light gold frame.

* Sixth bag in a new series of shoulderbags.

This bag is made out of black and silver vinyl (reptile print), has a silvertone buckle on the front and is lined with a powder blue cotton fabric, with a zippered pocket.

The shoulder straps are made out of window rolling-shutter straps.

A mesmerizing dance of light and texture, where abstract shapes flow like ripples in a liquid mirror. The interplay of tones creates a visual symphony of movement and depth. This was created using one of my digital photos and Filter Forge, and Lightroom. Rotate it around and find the flow that works for you, Wayne.

The last project of 2024.

Another design from the original Christmas bulb image. As with the other, I ran that through the Android "Mirror Lab" app and then took the kaleidoscopes I made and used the PIP (Picture in Picture) editor in "Photo Studio Pro" to put the scopes in Christmas bulbs plus blurred out behind the bulbs and greens. I then used the paint function to add the sparkles and then added the light gold frame. I hope you enjoy the image (also available on Zedge as free phone wallpaper), and here again is my Christmas message for all...

May this season bring all (whosoever will) to The Reason (Jesus) why we need the promises it carries and the hope it provides. As life returns to the hectic pace of its march to the ever-increasing beats and "you can do it all" messages, may we keep our eyes on the prize that is beyond this temporary world and its troubles. If you have hope in Christ, you have hope for eternity.

This series came out so well. This one reminds me of a person's ribs dancing in a dream. It is a smoke photo that I inverted to give the white background.

Crown Fountain is an interactive work of public art and video sculpture featured in Chicago's Millennium Park, which is located in the Loop community area. Designed by Catalan artist Jaume Plensa and executed by Krueck and Sexton Architects, it opened in July 2004. The fountain is composed of a black granite reflecting pool placed between a pair of glass brick towers. The towers are 50 feet tall, and they use light-emitting diodes (LEDs) to display digital videos on their inward faces. Construction and design of the Crown Fountain cost $17 million.
