We had a blast participating in the Renegade Craft Fair this year and thought all you interested people would love to see some of the rad photos we took while we were there. Thanks to those of you who stopped by our booth! As mentioned before, this year we put on the first ever Scout Books Art Market where the notebooks were customized by loads of super talented artists, illustrators and designers.
Last week, we gave a shop tour to a group of graphic design students from Portland State University.
Here's Austin showing what an offset aluminum plate looks like. He's describing how the ink sticks to part of the plate but not the rest.

Pretty impressive!
Scout Book is pleased to have been a sponsor of Mount Hood Community College's Integrated Media Program's end-of-the-year portfolio review that took place at Nemo Design HQ back in June.
The MHCC students created this fabulous Scout Book that is one of our favorite examples of a creative use for a custom interior.
The interior pages featured photographs, contact information and room for notes on each recent graduate. These Scout Book put the faces of the participants in the hands of their future employers, collaborators and peers. What a good idea!

These skeletal Scout Books were created by Matthew Trevaskis of Hola Pistola. The image on the books was created from one of his favorite etchings by his favorite illustrator and artist, José Posada. Living and working in Melbourne, Australia, Trevaskis has plans for more pieces honoring Posada to accompany these Scout Books.
