Lovely Sweet William is the product of two sisters, one from New Zealand and one from Australia, who, despite the distance, still make the effort to bring their love of all things handmade together. Being 100% recycled, Scout Books fit in perfectly with their credo. They also have some really beautiful art prints and the most adorable mini dolls that live in matchbox houses! So cute.

This Scout Book is the synthesis of many of the things we get very excited about: metallic inks, historical documents, recycled paper, democracy…the list goes on.
Scout Books is proud to introduce a pocket-sized edition of the Constitution of the United States of America. Containing the Preamble, the seven Articles and the twenty-seven Amendments, this tiny book packs the content into 32 pages and is wrapped in a two-color chipboard cover printed in black and metallic gold inks. Typeset in the oh-so-legible Gotham font by Hoefler & Frere-Jones, this little guy is a contemporary update on a crucial text that aims to make the supreme law of the land more accessible. The front cover boasts Museo Slab, designed by the talented Jos Buivenga.
My goodness, that's a good looking book.

They were created by Ziba for an IDSA “cross-craft” discussion about DIY design held right here in Portland, Oregon. The three-pack consists of one part sweet Portland city guide, one part informative conference/symposium particulars, and one part handy, blank sketchbook.

Chad Kouri loves paper. I might go so far as to call him The Collage Master. His work incorporates vintage ephemera, letterpress printing and found objects, which makes for a body of work that is at once tangible, nostalgic and visually spectacular. Find a bursting portfolio of Chad's work online at Long Live Analog, much of which lives happily in the interesting realm of digital-meets-analog. Geek out over projects such as his papercut desktop wallpaper for Kistune Noir, or his iPhone cases wrapped in digitized artwork of hand-cut vintage graph paper. Whoa.

Ina Weise is a young lady with quite a bit of creative experience under her belt. She is currently an intern at The Post Family, but before calling Chicago home, she studied in Austria, Poland, and her native Germany. Her command of geometric shapes is astonishing, and her work spans mediums from textiles to printmaking to apparel to installation. Her installation at the Post Family's Family Room Gallery will close this week; if you're in Chicago, stop in to celebrate the closing of her show The Following of One Thing After Another.

A close-up view of the iconic rooftop chimneys of Casa Milà, also known as La Pedrera, designed by the renowned architect Antoni Gaudí. These sculptural structures, resembling medieval helmets or surreal sentinels, are a hallmark of Gaudí’s unique architectural style and a part of the building’s artistic charm. Located in Barcelona, Spain, Casa Milà is celebrated for its organic forms, intricate designs, and artistic vision that seamlessly blends form and function. The chimneys exemplify Gaudí’s creative genius and serve as a testament to his innovative approach to modernist architecture.
Julianna Swaney makes beautiful, mythical illustrations that are composed of equal parts softness, intricacy and mystery. Much of her work is bursting with delicate washes of color, yet this Scout Book is a perfect example of how striking a single-color illustration can be! Jeremy Dubow is a California-born artist who's formal training includes studies at the Florence Academy of Art in Florence Italy. He currently has a solo exhibit of his 11 x 14 oil on mylar paintings titled, Jeremy Dubow: Portraits at Hiromi Ogawa Architects Portland, OR location which will be open through July by appointment. The exhibit consists of 27 portraits each numbered according to the chronological order in which they were painted. Three of these paintings were selected and produced into Scout Books by Beadle Design. Kristin Beadle was so kind as to send us some great photos from the exhibit opening night reception and some great closeups of the Scout Books as well.
Mia Christopher sent us three Scout Books brimming with juicy, colorful stuff. She brightened our week, and we hope that checking out this series of expertly experimental illustration has brightened yours. This Scout Book is the third in a series of three; be sure to see the first and second.
