Our American family (some really close friends that somewhat adopt us here in the US many years ago) always give as a box of homemade sweet goodness. They have been doing this in their families for generations, and this year they even have incorporated some traditional Brazilian treats such as brigadeiros! Receiving these is an amazing gift, but eating them is PURE JOY!

This was taken just north of Brigham City, Utah. It's an old building and I thought it would be an good shot with the mountains in the background.
Juliana, my oldest had the idea of creating a snowman! This one is the result (with a little bit of my help)! This was my favorite one!

Like many families we have some traditions during Xmas. I always make sugar cookies with the girls so we can leave some for Santa. I roll the dough and let them do whatever they want, using our cookie cutters, or just their imagination. After baking them, I tried to help them decorate with red and green icing. Here is the result of our work. I hope Santa enjoyed the gift as much as I enjoyed making them with my daughters.

Looking forward to their concert here in MPLS next summer... have tons of good memories from my college years, working on my assignments through the night listening cassette tapes of Joshua Tree, Achtung Baby, War, Boy, Rattle and Hum and Zooropa (I think that dates me!!!)

The little airplane is a diecast reproduction of P-47D Bubbletop – Scale 1:144 (around 3” or 8cm long).
As far as I can remember I was always fascinated with the WWII. I always liked all the historical aspects of the war, and how this huge event changed the history of mankind forever. After seeing some random episodes of the PBS Ken Burn’s documentary WAR, I decided to purchase the series, and I did not regret a bit. One of the best documentaries I ever seeing. If you like history and story telling, and happen to have any interest on events that shaped our world today, I highly recommend this series.
