The afternoon of Wednesday 28th February saw Plymouth come to a standstill and our school close as heavy snow hit the county. Our students made the most of the wonderful white stuff while they still had time in school!

**Full Disclosure: This is one of my favourite captures and I love the way the way the camera captured the ripple and the sinking coin. This is not a doomsday post, but with the markets around the world crashing and burning the last few days, the talks of GFC II are everywhere. I don't claim to kno ... Sidpicky

Ute in her Southwest meets Midwest Elsah home.

yesterday may 5th was the day the moon was closest to the earth for this year, called the supermoon, making the moon appear 14% larger. the moon did not look at all different to me, but i wanted to take a picture of this "supermoon" nonetheless. this is the site i normally see when i draw the curtains and retreat to bed every night.

my camera's battery has been dead for the past couple of days and i have no idea where the charger is, so this photo was taken w/ my iphone.

i normally shoot using my macro lens for product photos and almost never take night photos, so this perspective is definitely out of the norm for me.

The city of Barcelona is always worth the visit. This being my sixth time in town, I decided to make "Creative Travel" my motto, exploring the beautiful backstreets of the old town in new ways, for instance during a "Devouring Barcelona" Food Tour, a fashion or a bicycle tour. I also went dancing & cooking , plus on a very beautiful day walk around charming Barceloneta ..!

Check out my travel blog at www.creativelena.com about more tips & insights as to what to see & do in the capital city of Catalunya. Enjoy :)

Reasons for Shop Closures in Malls

In recent years, malls across the country have been struggling to stay open due to shop closures. The main reason for shop closures in malls is that they have become outdated and lack the necessary amenities to keep up with the changes in consumer habits. Additionally, online shopping has become increasingly popular, providing shoppers with the convenience of browsing and making purchases without ever leaving their homes. Finally, competition from other types of retail stores, such as discount stores and outlet stores, has taken away a significant portion of the traditional mall's customer base.

Long Term Effects of Shop Closures in Malls

The long term effects of shop closures in malls are numerous. To begin with, job losses can lead to economic hardship for individuals and their families. The decrease in retail space can also lead to a decrease in property values and tax revenue, as well as a decrease in foot traffic and sales volume for businesses located in the mall. Furthermore, abandoned malls can become blighted areas that are costly to clean up. Finally, the closures can also affect the local economy as a whole, as malls often serve as a hub for economic activity and jobs.

The Rheinpark Center in Neuss has faced challenges with store closures, which have impacted the overall shopping experience. These closures have led to increased vacancies and a less vibrant atmosphere, making it difficult to attract and retain shoppers.

To address these issues, the Rheinpark Center has ambitious plans for the future. They are investing over 50 million euros to transform the top floor into a comprehensive medical and health center. This new facility will cover 12,000 square meters and include a variety of medical services such as cardiology, radiology, physiotherapy, and wellness areas. The goal is to create a multifunctional space that combines shopping with healthcare, making it more convenient for visitors to access both retail and medical services in one location.

The renovation is expected to be completed by 2026, and the center hopes this new approach will attract more visitors and revitalize the mall.
