UK: Baltic Creative and the Baltic Triangle - Liverpool
It’s a perfect storm of business culture, recession, art and culture-led regeneration that has transformed a corner of Liverpool and seen it welcome a cluster of creative and digital firms. Baltic Creative Campus in the Baltic Triangle is rapidly becoming the city’s coolest hangout. It wasn’t always that way. A decade ago much of the land was disused dockland and warehouses, with a few traditional firms like mechanics, manufacturers and wholesalers using the space. Now it is a thriving business district with the Creative Campus at its heart.
Baltic Creative CIC is a commercial landlord. It has played a leading role in the regeneration and rebirth of a semi-derelict area of Liverpool known as the Baltic Triangle. Baltic Creative CIC owns and manages refurbished warehouse space designed specifically for creative and digital industries. The company also plays a leading role in the Baltic Triangle Area - it’s Managing Director, Mark Lawler, is the Chair of the Area Company and has, with 40-50 other companies, developed an Area Vision Manifesto, set up an area company and developed a business plan which is now recognized and adopted by local agency partners.
As the area continues to grow the management of area relationships and area investment between the city, businesses owners and private developers/investors is a great challenge. Retaining and driving the ‘Vision’ for the Baltic Triangle does make you realize - there are more than 3 sides to the Triangle! Mark will set the scene and explain the background and success of Baltic Creative and share the ‘Vision’ and challenges for the Baltic Triangle Area.

Baltic Creative và Khu Tam giác Bantích: Tam giác không chỉ có 3 cạnh!
Baltic Creative CIC là một đơn vị chuyên kinh doanh cho thuê địa ốc. Doanh nghiệp này giữ vị trí hàng đầu trong công tác cải tạo, tái sinh khu vực nửa hoang hóa của Liverpool có tên gọi là Tam giác Bantích. Baltic Creative CIC sở hữu, quản lý các mặt bằng kho bãi đã cải tạo được thiết kế đặc biệt để phục vụ các ngành nghề sáng tạo và công nghệ số. Công ty cũng đóng vai trò chủ chốt tại Khu Tam giác Bantích – Tổng Giám đốc công ty, ông Mark Lawler cũng là Chủ tịch của Công ty Khu vực và đã cùng với khoảng 40-50 công ty khác lập bản Tuyên ngôn Định hướng Khu vực, thành lập doanh nghiệp khu vực và xây dựng Kế hoạch kinh doanh, hiện kế hoạch này đã được các đối tác địa phương công nhận và chấp thuận.
Trong quá trình phát triển của khu vực này, việc quản lý các mối quan hệ và hoạt động đầu tư tại chỗ giữa Thành phố, các Chủ doanh nghiệp và các nhà đầu tư tư nhân là một trở ngại lớn. Việc duy trì và thúc đẩy ‘Định hướng’ cho vùng Tam giác Bantích thực sự khiến ta nhận ra rằng Tam giác này không chỉ có 3 cạnh! Mark sẽ nêu khái quát thực trạng, thông tin chung và lý giải thành công của Baltic Creative cũng như chia sẻ về bản ‘Định hướng’ và những thách thức đối với “khu Tam giác Bantích”.

This is happening all over New York. Fast-food joints are putting up large-scale models of their products. Dunkin' Donuts has hit the ground running with this creative form of advertising, with this really huge coffee cup on this awning at a Dunkin' Donuts/Baskin-Robbins eatery.
