Welcome to the [Creative] Commons Park in Denver, Colorado. This new park is located near the confluence of Cherry Creek and the Platte River, close to downtown Denver.

I taped the Creative Commons sticker to the sign and removed it after shooting. It is not still there, I promise.

What is the source of the word swag anyway ? I thought a swag was part of a curtain.

This piece was done in honor of the space shuttle Challenger, which exploded shortly after takeoff on 28 January 1986. The two faces in the take-off smoke are intended to be composites of characteristics of the astronauts. The quote is from the evening speech President Reagan gave to the nation. (The work was done in 1995, and consequentially I pasted the speech into the work, something I would not do today due to its affect on the overall piece's appearance.)

The sixth annual Creative Writing Conference took place on campus the first weekend in April. Conference alumna and fiction writer Sarah Crossland returned as a faculty member, a first in conference history.

Thanks to Creative Commons, board game designers can quickly source a large pile of images. Here are some of mine that will be in the forthcoming bilingual California edition of GiftTRAP.

From the first edition, I can say it’s an unusual game of empathy that appeals to a wide range of ages and genders.

It's also fun to stumble across photos you recognize from flickr friends.
