Marvel: Creating the Cinematic Universe exhibit at the Queensland Gallery of Modern Art

Nell watches closely as Tomas O Maonaigh, an animator, film-maker and educator from Nerve Center shows the kids how to move the figures slightly, photo them with the digital video camera and bring the images into the computer for animation. He was brilliant at describing and getting the kids involved and doing it. Their faces were amazing as they watched what they had created themselves on his monitor nearby.

Preparing for Kathakali in Kerala, India.

I did not take any photographs during the performance - expecting to get a chance at the end. Sadly this was not not the case, the dancers disappeared quickly off the stage after the performance - no doubt to quickly move their heavy headresses.

The dancing was simply awesome and much better seen by eye rather than through a view finder.

It is nice to be back in UK and I will try to catch up with friends over the next week.

Lots of India shots to come....

These were made as a set for gifts for groomsmen. The groom chose words, I made bracelets to go with them.

The Town of Bedlam: Scene 10

[Betty] Hi Amber, long time no see. I love your tank top! I haven't seen you at the town hall meetings in a while.

[Amber] Thanks. Yeah I've been out of town for a few months. My Uncle passed away so I was staying with my Aunt to help comfort her. She's doing a little better now.

[Betty] Sorry to hear that. Words seem meaningless in those circumstances. Oh, I thought I recognized that sound coming our way. Now that's a true man's man! That's my babies daddy.

[Amber] Tell me about it! That's my daughter's father also. He once took me to the top of a tree. It was the most beautiful experience I've ever had! That's when you were created sweetie. Kids, say hi to daddy.

[Tex] Howdy ladies. Hi kids. Daddy loves you!

Try this for fun.

1 .Take a nice landscape image and dupe the background layer and put it in exclusion blending mode.

2. Add a layer mask and make sure the mask is chose and got Filter > Render Different Clouds ON THE MASK. Set layer at about 60% opacity.

3. Add a blank layer and go Filter > Render > Clouds, put in SCREEN overlay mode and make opacity at about 50%.

4. Add a levels adjustment layer and set the left (dark) output level at 30 and the right (light) output level at 230.

It's an interesting start. If you have a bright and colorful image you may wish to reduce it's saturation at bit. In my case I just duped layer, desaturated it, put in color mode at 30% opacity.
