Why spend your days decorating for christmas, when you can spend time preparing for @luxhelsinki instead?

We've been working hard on our upcoming exhibit at @tiivistamo and starting to feel pretty good about it, so maybe it's time for a couple days with our families now.

Pictured: @annimurtosaariart assembling the LED visual art pieces for our exhibit, lit by a quick test scene I set up in @resolume running on a new media server we're testing.

In Daved Allen's book, Getting Things Done, he mentions that some of the most useful desks consist of a solid core door on top of a pair of filing cabinets. I think this would make a good alternative to using a door.

This is a scene of one of my gardens and copper trellis' that I do...

Amazing turnout over 300 people - positive vibe throughout the project and during the night.

Individual “ants” before attaching to Chain-link fence.

This was my submission ("Create...") to the 1st Annual Chain-link Fence Art Exhibition and Competition. Had a lot of fun with this, inspired by chain-link fencing of which I’ve never worked with before, tricky stuff ;) My arms got a work out.

MATERIALS: 4 ft. x 4ft. scrap piece of chain-link fencing, a found barbeque grill (web), crystals, glass beads, found metal nuts/bolts/washers, metal wire and scrap telephone wire. I wanted people to discover the message in the spider’s web, “create” that would tie into the leading ant’s message of peace, happiness, laughter, love, opportunity, dreams, something(!). It’s good fun if we choose to create positive things for ourselves and the world :)

JF Groff delivered a very exciting talk about the birth of the WWW.

This is the prototype of the first web browser ever - ahead of it's time you could say, with styles support and wiki-like capabilities.

The whole www thing was developed at CERN. This app was running on a NEXT computer.

This image is something that I was experimenting with. I was out with the camera the other day and got a great shot of the downy woodpecker itself, but had an ugly post in the left-hand side that obscured about 50% of what you see now.

I saw it immediately and decided to play, so I took 2 more shots of the feeder itself (the downy had taken off), to see if I could create a more pleasing image.

This is the result - the downy is from the original, as is about 10% of the log feeder; the bottom left portion of the image is from the second shot, and the top of the feeder is from the third.

Can you see the seams?

Three children have died after drowning in stagnant water created by sand winners at Akwasa hills at Tuba in the Ga South Municipality of the Greater Accra region.

Information gathered indicates that the three children whilst playing with a bicycle fell into a dugout but failed to come out.

The deceased are Elisha Adu,12; Samuel Adjei Mensah aka Tawiah, 9; from the same mother and Isaac Amoah, 8years.

All three bodies have been conveyed to the Police Hospital by the Weija Divisional Police for autopsy.

In an interview with Adom News, some of the residents who helped in retrieving the bodies from the abandoned dugout said several complaints have been made to Ga South Municipal Assembly but failed to act.

At the residences of the three children, sadness and sorrow are welcoming atmosphere as family members converged wailing.

Mother of Elisha Adu who is a twin brother and Samuel Adjei Mensah could not even open up on the incident as the demise of her children seemed to have overshadowed her.

Meanwhile, Esther Dankwaa, mother of Isaac Amoah, one of the victims, expressed shock after seeing her son dead.

Chief of the area, Nii Akadja, said several calls on authorities to have the sand-winning activity stopped have yielded no response.

He said it appears that the authorities have abandoned the area and have no priority on the welfare of residents.
