This was my submission, "Create..." to the 1st Annual Chain-link Fence Art Exhibition and Competition. Had a lot of fun with this, inspired by chain-link fencing of which I’ve never worked with before, tricky stuff ;) My arms got a work out.

MATERIALS: a 4 ft. x 4ft. scrap piece of chain-link fencing, a found barbeque grill (web), crystals, glass beads, found metal nuts/bolts/washers, metal wire and scrap telephone wire. I wanted people to discover the message in the spider’s web, “create” that would tie into the leading ant’s message of peace, happiness, laughter, love, opportunity, dreams, something(!). It’s good fun if we choose to create positive things for ourselves and the world :)

If you are curious about the process and the other versions/redo’s that went into this piece, please visit my blog to see more!

Three children have died after drowning in stagnant water created by sand winners at Akwasa hills at Tuba in the Ga South Municipality of the Greater Accra region.

Information gathered indicates that the three children whilst playing with a bicycle fell into a dugout but failed to come out.

The deceased are Elisha Adu,12; Samuel Adjei Mensah aka Tawiah, 9; from the same mother and Isaac Amoah, 8years.

All three bodies have been conveyed to the Police Hospital by the Weija Divisional Police for autopsy.

In an interview with Adom News, some of the residents who helped in retrieving the bodies from the abandoned dugout said several complaints have been made to Ga South Municipal Assembly but failed to act.

At the residences of the three children, sadness and sorrow are welcoming atmosphere as family members converged wailing.

Mother of Elisha Adu who is a twin brother and Samuel Adjei Mensah could not even open up on the incident as the demise of her children seemed to have overshadowed her.

Meanwhile, Esther Dankwaa, mother of Isaac Amoah, one of the victims, expressed shock after seeing her son dead.

Chief of the area, Nii Akadja, said several calls on authorities to have the sand-winning activity stopped have yielded no response.

He said it appears that the authorities have abandoned the area and have no priority on the welfare of residents.

We are creating an Art Float for Social Change at Tam Makers, to inspire more people to participate in democracy.

Our parade float features Mother Earth and a circle of hands, pulled by the colorful dragon Quetzy. Young activists will sing and speak about social change -- and artists will share their ideas on our spinning carousel. They want you all to vote, speak up and create a better world!

This community art project was created by over a hundred volunteers at Tam Makers, led by Fabrice Florin and Geo Monley, with the generous support of Good Earth, Mill Valley Community Action Network and Tamalpais High School.

The Art Float for Social Change will reach out to youth and people of color through art, music and technology. We will present this art show on Earth Day, Memorial Day and Fourth of July parades in Marin -- and throughout California this fall, to encourage people to vote in the next elections.

Bedrock Mortars at "Kitchen Rock." These holes were worn into the rock by Native Americans who used this site for grinding seeds. The larger, deeper holes were used primarily for grinding acorns while the shallow depressions were used for grinding pinyon nuts. The area was occupied by the Piute Tribe of California and Nevada through the late 19th century. These mortar holes, which could be much older, were presumably created by the ancestors of the Piute. Other evidence near the site indicates that the area was first inhabited about 5,000 years ago. The rock here is the Bishop Tuff. BLM Fish Slough Area. North of Bishop, Inyo Co., Calif.

Created this for a buyer and got a positive feedback.

His Royal Highness, Prince Edward, Duke of Kent visited St John's Church in Ingrow on 31st May 2019 on his way to visit Keighley and Worth Valley Railway to commemorate ten years as a patron of KWVR. His visit to the church marked, almost to the day, 175 years since his great-great-grandmother Queen Victoria signed the authorisation to create the parish of Ingrow cum Hainworth in May 1944.
