Pope Clement XI Embassy carriage (of the Oceans) - 18th century (1st half) / Coche da Embaixada ao Papa Clemente XI (dos Oceanos) - Século XVIII (1716)

************************************************************

The National Coach Museum (Portuguese: Museu Nacional dos Coches) is located in the Belém district of Lisbon, in Portugal. The museum has one of the finest collections of historical carriages in the world, being one of the most visited museums of the city.

The museum is housed in the old Horse Riding Arena of the Belém Palace, formerly a Royal Palace which is now the official residence of the President of Portugal. The Horse Riding Area was built after 1787 following the Neoclassical design of Italian architect Giacomo Azzolini. Several Portuguese artists decorated the interior of the building with paintings and tile (azulejo) panels. The inner arena is 50 m long and 17 m wide, and was used for training horses and for horse riding exhibitions and games, which could be watched from its balconies by the Portuguese royal family.

The museum was created in 1905 by Queen Amélia to house an extensive collection of carriages belonging to the Portuguese royal family and nobility. The collection gives a full picture of the development of carriages from the late 16th through the 19th centuries, with carriages made in Italy, Portugal, France, Spain, Austria and England.

Among its rarest items is a late 16th/early 17th-century travelling coach used by King Philip II of Portugal to come from Spain to Portugal in 1619. There are also several pompous Baroque 18th century carriages decorated with paintings and exuberant gilt woodwork, the most impressive of these being a ceremonial coach given by Pope Clement XI to King John V in 1715, and the two coaches of the Portuguese embassador to Pope Clement XI, built in Rome in 1716.

Created by Tiffany Studios in 1901. From the exhibit’s description:

“The Wisteria lamp was designed by Clara Driscoll, who was responsible for most of the Tiffany lampshades, with the assistance of her ‘Tiffany girls.’ Of particular note are the open bronze branches at the top, from which the wisteria blossoms fall to an irregular edge.”

The adjacent photo shows the entire lamp.

Louis Comfort Tiffany was a renowned American artist who produced multiple types of artwork, including paintings, ceramics, metalwork, and jewelry. He is best known for his glass pieces, including stained glass windows and lamps. He employed novel approaches with glass and metal to create beautiful, detailed results. Tiffany found inspiration in nature, including plants and animals, which is reflected in many pieces he produced. In addition to being an artist himself, he created a company that included other artists and craftsmen. Later in life he became the first Design Director for Tiffany & Co., the jewelry company his father had founded.

Seen at an exhibit of Tiffany pieces from the Driehaus Collection, displayed at The Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation in Dearborn, Michigan.

A bunch of jazzed up loons who perform a fantabulous comedy show/musical act.

I'm looking to create an eyecatching image for them with echoes of the period of music they play(20's-40's)

My friend Bill Westerman, along with his super kind wife Ilana, run this cool company in California called Create with Context;.

They work in helping other companies to improve, innovate and evolve in terms of technology according to people's specific needs.

They have worked with important clients such as Adobe, Yahoo, Amway, Panasonic, Ebay, IBM among others.

They ask me to illustrate their 2010 bussiness calendar. The topic, of course, people.

Different people=different aproach to technology.

So, ¡¡here are the images!!!!

The Supreme Court of the United States of America is the highest court in the United States. It has ultimate jurisdiction over all federal courts and over state court cases involving issues of federal law, and original jurisdiction over a small range of cases. The Court, which meets in the United States Supreme Court Building in Washington, D.C., consists of a chief justice and eight associate justices who are nominated by the President and confirmed by the United States Senate.

The Supreme Court was organized on February 2, 1790

Marriage Equality red logo at The Supreme Court of the United States building in Washington, D.C. USA

The official logo of the HRC, adopted in 1995, consists of a yellow equals sign imposed onto a blue background. The logo was created in 1995 by design firm Stone Yamashita, who attracted then-Executive Director Elizabeth Birch to its bold design. A temporary, ongoing logo of the HRC trademark equal sign is a red revision of the official logo. The Campaign changed the profile picture on its Facebook page around 1 PM EDT on Monday, March 25, 2013 to the current red logo. The change is a social media effort by the campaign to show support for marriage equality in light of hearings in the Supreme Court (United States v. Windsor and Hollingsworth v. Perry) on the constitutionality of same-sex marriage. According to HRC spokesman Charlie Joughin, the red "is a symbol for love, and that’s what marriage is all about."

An image I made today using Adobe Illustrator CS3.

The circles were placed by hand, in a random fashion. I tried later to make this again more "perfectly" (mathematically), and found it defeated the purpose. There is a place for mathematical perfection, and a place for art, and while oft they do intertwine, always separate must they be as well.

By over-thinking it, I staunch my creativity. By letting myself go, I achieve this.
