Strobist Info: AB800 through white beauty dish at 6 o'clock. A Vivitar 283 through a white shoot-through umbrella down low at 6 o'clock. Vivitar 283 at 3 o'clock as a rim-light. Smoke shot separately with a Vivitar 283 at 10 o'clock.
I just love that 'pulled through a hedge backwards' look. This was taken in a café somewhere in Shropshire, England.

Voltei da viagem com o saldo esmaltistico enorme, ai tanta coisa linda, esse roxo com cara de azul comprei na minha viagem, gente que coisa mais linda e dificil de fotografar, a foto nos comentários é a que mais se aproxima, ele é meio neon, mas a noite puxa mais pro azul cor de caneta bic. Essa marca é a que produz os esmaltes Color Club, tem uma qualidade ótima, 2 camadas e tc(agora tenho um Seche Vite, to amando ele!!) heheh
Bem é isso espero que gostem dessa cor linda!!

Rarely, occasionally, against my will I'm forced by one thing or another to venture into The Big Smoke.
There's these things, I think they call them malls, or perhaps it's maul's — no one cares about spelling anymore. I think they do it deliberately — these maulers — making the whole experience disorienting. My visits are infrequent enough to notice that what was there last time, isn't there now.
Fun, curiosity or masochism — it's hard to tell — pushed me around gawking at the shiny things, the faux brands, the works; all the time wondering where I was and if I would ever find a way out. Knowing I was up, I needed to go down! There's a clue. I didn't know which down but any escalator — surely a de-escalator — would do. This one plunged me into the precinct reeking of wrinkle-free promises, cheap and nasty scents and Southeast Asian nail 'salons'. Dismounting, I was face-to-face with this: a cosmetic conscience.
Not so much a photograph as a snapshot, it will stand as a record of an instant where protest has gone all mainstream and marketing: come in, buy our guilt-free goop (probably made with gas and coal, like our polymer displays, light diffusers and err, our light).
It's timely. Minister Plibersek, keen to approve coal and gas extraction projects, contrastingly has rejected both a silver and gold prospect on flimsy grounds where the science on gas and coal is solid. This is the problem with politics and transparency: they are not good bedfellows. Not wishing to be further mauled; I'm out of here!

Snapped at the open day held at Swindon Works on Saturday 13th September 1975, Class 42 "Warship" diesel-hydraulic no. D818 GLORY had been repainted especially for the event. Somewhere just off camera was its close relative, D1062 WESTERN COURIER. "Courier" went on to be preserved ...not that I necessarily think this a happy outcome... but I believe I read somewhere on Flickr that D818 was cut up.
I liked the Warships. It was all in the "droopy" windscreens and the subtle contouring of the "nose". There was a definite convexity, yet, if you look at the left-hand front edge it is almost a straight line ...but not quite. The antecedents of the class are plain to anyone familiar with contemporary German locomotives. Of course, when they were a common sight throughout the Western Region I took no notice of them. My heart was with steam in those days ...still is really... and I regarded diesels as contemptible. Yet the Western Region diesel-hydraulics stood out as thoroughbreds among the carthorses of lesser BR regions. Once again, as with steam locomotives, I sat up and took notice just as they vanished. I last saw one working on Thursday 16th March 1972.
