Oxalis violacea, the violet wood-sorrel, is a perennial plant and herb in the family Oxalidaceae. Oxalis species are also known as sour grass, sour trefoil, and shamrock.
It is native plant in much of the United States, from the Rocky Mountains east to the Atlantic Ocean and Gulf of Mexico coasts, and through Eastern Canada. It has a tendency to cluster in open places in damp woods and on stream banks, and in moist prairies.[1]
The plant is listed as a threatened or endangered species in five eastern U.S. states.

The history of Bassiano, first written records date back to 1169, is deeply marked by the action of the spiritual movements of the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries, who were the promoters of a social renewal. North east of Gran Canaria (Canary Islands), at the end of the ravine called “Barranco Real”. Here an old WWII building tells something about the history of the island. A really cloudy sky give us some dramatic feel.

The mouth of “Rio Martino” at sunset. The Pontine Plain is crossed by a lot of canals made for the reclamation of these lands formerly swampy. Flowing to the sea were created small navigable bays.
Near home a nice place where you can wait for the sunrise. Mirador Punta Comisaria in Taliarte, (Gran Canaria Canary Islands). Not a shiny sunrise but a magical start of a day.

The village of Gourdon is perched on a dizzying peak of 760 m and overlooks the Loup Valley. This location has earned it the nickname of "Eagle's Nest". It is part of the 149 most beautiful villages in France and has two flowers in the Entente Florale.
This picture shows the church of the village Sexten/Sesto in Südirol/Alto Adige during sunrise. I tried to take this picture several times but most days I have been there fog was raising from the valley right before sunrise. This fog was covering the mountains in the most periode of the sunrise. But finally i got a day without the fog and I was able to take this picture.
From the mountain to the sea: Agaete (north-west of Gran Canaria). The area of the natural pools offered me the opportunity to play with the long exposure technique.

Mirador Punta Comisaría, Gran Canaria (Canary Islands). A really nice point of the coast of Gran Canaria, with small natural pools that fill up at high tide. A beautiful place to admire the sunrise and dive when the Sun gets too strong.

The area of the low Umbrian hills, between the medieval towns of Giove and Amelia are simply a marvel. A thousand opportunities to capture details of plants illuminated by the rays of the sun. Another moment of Magic Forest.
Monte Cassino Abbey (Latina, Italy), the first house of the Benedictine Order, having been established around 529. It was for the community of Monte Cassino that the Rule of Saint Benedict was composed.
This Abbey suffered the cruelty of the histrory, his golden age was in the 11th and 12th centuries.
The last wound was inflicted by Allied bombing during World War II. The Abbey was then rebuilt after the war, in the early 1950s, the rebuilt Basilica was consecrated on 24 October 1964.
