The history of Bassiano, first written records date back to 1169, is deeply marked by the action of the spiritual movements of the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries, who were the promoters of a social renewal. The spiritual friars, strict observants of the rule of Saint Francis of Assisi, who found refuge in the cave of Selva Scura, now annexed to the Sanctuary of the Crucifix. And for some, the Knights Templar who, it is believed, have left the mark of their passage in the Sanctuary of the Crucifix and in the small church of San Nicola.

The beach of Porto Garibaldi (Ferrara) is protected from the high seas by a series of rocks forming a natural breakwater. A perfect place for a nice seagulls meeting. Adriatic Sea, north of Italy.

Two juvenile Common Buzzard gather at a small water source in the semi-arid steppe of Los Monegros, Aragón. One bird spreads its wings and calls loudly, its reflection mirrored in the still surface, while the other watches from the sandy bank. The warm tones of the dry landscape highlight the harsh yet beautiful character of this Spanish steppe habitat.
